    Blitz Games was an independent game developer based in Leamington Spa in the UK. Founded in 1990 by the twins Andrew and Philip Oliver; the company was broken down into 5 divisions. The various divisions targeted mature gamers, family friendly titles and simulations for professionals (such as medics in the armed forces). Some of games they developed featured famous licenses such as Spongebob Squarepants and Shrek.

    The studio closed down completely on September 12, 2013, after 23 years of operation. Management cited a lack of sufficeint client contracts as the primary source of the financial troubles that ultimately led to the developer shutting down.
