Majesco announced over Twitter when you'll have a chance to play BloodRayne: Betrayal, too: August 30. Technically, it's both August 30 and August 31, with the game first arriving on PlayStation Network, then coming over to Xbox Live Arcade.

Anyways, it looks alright.  It mainly makes me wish the Dishwasher games were on PSN every time I see it.

Meh. The game is ugly as shit and what they've shown of the combat doesn't look like anything special.

I'll try the demo but as of now I definitely don't see myself buying the game.

This game looks interesting but if it isn't going to be ported to PSP on the network then I will pass.

Were any of the Bloodrayne games actually any good? I recall the second game getting mediocre reviews and I always had the impression that the games mostly sold well because of gore and titties.

your impression is pretty spot on.

While I dig Wayforward, this game looks a tad repetitive and has some bland art.  It's also not exactly the highest-profile way to "reboot" the series for current consoles.
 
What Majesco needs to do is go to Behaviour studios and "save" WET 2 (which supposedly got canceled). Because, with a new coat of paint, they'd have a new HD Bloodrayne game on their hands. WET has a lot in common with the Bloodrayne games by Terminal Reality; both star hot female leads, blend (gory) melee combat and shooting, have bullet time abilities, acrobatic platforming moves, and blood based special abilities. Except that where Bloodrayne was janky (though the second game was a noticeable improvement), WET is a lot more solid as an actual game. And really, really fun -- super underrated. Majesco should seriously go and start talking to the former A2M; save WET 2 and convert it to a new Bloodrayne title. I wanna see a proper HD Bloodrayne game.

I want a legit new BloodRayne title, not a sidescroller :|. The first BR was so ridiculous, but it had gore, and the VA for Rayne was so emotionless, she did not give a fuck-- it was awesome. I tried BR2, but the controls on PC were so bad it was too frustrating to continue.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I think both the art and the game look great. I've never played a BloodRayne game before but as it stands now I expect this will be my first.

I also think it looks pretty awesome, even the art. WayForward does good work, so I'm hopeful.

And the first two games were pretty dumb, but for some reason I have a lot of affection for them. Maybe it was the cocktail of vampires, boobs, blood, Nazis, and slow-motion action, but who knows? I'm kind of excited about this new installment.

I was asking for it to come back. The games had their share of issues but they were a total guilty pleasure for me. I'd love to see a new, well done 3rd person beat em up with her in it,.

I enjoyed the first game. Yet, I never got a chance to play the second; but, I hope it's "at minimum," a decent game.

I think it's a bummer the series went this route. I always hoped the franchise would get a decent budget to knock it out of the park.
