In My Opinion, The Best RPG On Xbox 360
Blue Dragon is an RPG for the Xbox 360. It was released on August 28th, 2007 (USA).
In my opinion , Blue Dragon is the best RPG on Xbox 360. This game was also the first multi-disc game for Xbox 360 by being 3 discs long. Here is the story in a nutshell: Blue Dragon follows the story of five friends (Shu, Jiro, Kluke, Zola, and Marumaro) as they travel across the world to confront Nene, the evil king of the Grand Kingdom. In this review I'm going to briefly talk about the graphics, music, and gameplay.First off, lets talk about graphics. The game has a nice, simple yet, very artistic style to it. Akira Toriyama (creator of DragonBall) did the art for Blue Dragon. I think he did a very good job with it. Even though the main characters are just kids, they stand out from the crowd of other main characters in RPG games. Critics have praised the game for having very good graphics. Game Informer said "The characters look like sculpted figurines wandering around a world built to scale".
Now lets move to the music of the game. The music was made by famed Nobuo Uematsu, who made the music for the Final Fantasy games. All the songs he made for this game are fantastic and set a great tone for each location of the game. One of my favorite songs in the game is "A Smiling Face". It's a very peaceful song that could fight in just about any RPG game if it wanted to. I guess the only song most people didn't like was the boss battle song "Eternity". It's a goofy rock and roll song that is kinda out of place in this game with ever thing else being orchestrated.
Now lets talk about the gameplay, which is what brings in or doesn't bring in people to this game. One of the main producers of this game is Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series. The gameplay is basically taken from old school Japanese RPG games, like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. Each character gets a class like FF3 (not FF6) and in a nutshell, you can have warrior, white mage, etc. to use. Many people have criticized the gameplay for not being original and just being like other RPG games. I personally loved the gameplay in this title. I'm a fan of old school JRPG gameplay, like Dragon Quest.
In conclusion, Blue Dragon is an old-school JRPG at heart. If you are fan of old-school JRPGs or just a fan of turn based RPG games, then you owe yourself to check this game out. I believe the game is only $20 brand new now so, it shouldn't hurt to buy it. This is just a basic review for the game.
