Boba Fett appears judiciuosly in Extended Universe fiction, mostly including books and comics. He appears in some video games, mostly ones set during the Galactic Empire era, as only the Jedi Knight series of games take place during the New Republic Era.
Originally introduced in Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back, this legendary bounty hunter has appeared in a slew of games and is undeniably awesome.
Boba Fett was a cloned Mandalorian bounty hunter, based off of the same genetic template as Republic clone troopers- his father Jango Fett. Boba Fett first appeared in the film The Empire Strikes back, as a secondary antagonist. Boba Fett was the bounty hunter who originally captured Han Solo and the Millenium Falcon. After appearing in Empire Strikes Back, he later appeared in Return of the Jedi, as one of Jabba The Hutt's henchmen, acting as a guard for the palace, and accompanying Jabba on his barge when he went to feed Luke and Han to the Sarlacc. When fighting broke out on the skiffs, Boba Fett jumped into the fray, attempting to capture Luke Skywalker, who was escaping. While fighting with Luke, Fett's jetpack was hit by Han Solo, which caused his thruster jets to activate, sending him off the skiff and into the mouth of the Sarlacc below, apparently being eaten by the beast. Most people assume that Boba Fett dies here.Cheating Death
However, as Fett had proven an extremely popular character, his death in Return of the Jedi was retconned by Lucasfilm in the expanded universe. According to the official depictions of the event, Fett was protected by his Mandalorian armor, and the Sarlacc found him "somewhat indigestible", and regurgitated him out, wounded, but still alive. Following this, he was captured by Jawas who thought he was a droid, and taken aboard their Sandcrawler. Ironically enough, this Sandcrawler then crashed into the Sarlacc pit, stranding Fett inside it once again. He escaped again by detonating his jetpack, and blew himself out of the creature. Following this second escape, Boba Fett spent several years operating with a fellow bounty hunter, Dengar (One of the bounty hunters seen aboard the Executor in Empire Strikes Back being hired to hunt Han Solo). Fett spent several years hunting various bounties, and making a name for himself in the Galactic scene. After several decades as a legendary bounty hunter, Fett took on the title Mandalore, leader of the Mandalorians, and attempted to rebuild the Mandalorian race.Boba Fett appears judiciuosly in Extended Universe fiction, mostly including books and comics.
