I'm somewhat perplexed by this game . Its was announced a couple of months ago they just started showing gameplay and now its coming out in about 2 weeks . Sounds to me like its either going to be bad or be delayed .
Bodycount
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Aug 30, 2011
Described as "Gun-porn 2.0," Bodycount is Codemasters Studios Guildford's arcade style first-person shooter for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Whats up with Bodycount?
I think it'll be released on time but I'm somewhat skeptical of this one too. Especially when I read something about them making up their own FPS controls. I'll wait and see how the controls and game turn out before judgment but if it ain't broken don't fix it in my book. I wouldn't be shocked at a 2 or 3 out of 5 review tho.

I played the demo ... I would not recommend the experience.
On a fundamental level, the game is far to clunky and slow to take advantage of or have any real fun with the skillshot-type system they've put into it.
@Yanngc33: That... is completely ridiculous. So basically the game was abandoned but still had to be released in some form or another.
That demo is atrocious
Abort! abort!

You have to do a "half-press" of the LT to be able to aim and move at the same time. If you press the LT all the way in you go into a sort of cover mode where you can use the left analog stick to lean left/right, duck behind cover, etc. Don't get me wrong....I thought it was a horrible way of doing it. I just wanted to point out that you can move and aim at the same time. The demo was awful. When I wanted to aim with the left trigger I couldn't move and shoot. It forced me to stand still and aim from a cover position. The shooting was poor and their attempt at a skill shot system is laughable compared to Bulletstorm.
@left4doof: The game was announced over a year ago. They lost their lead producer (Stuart Black) and they changed the entire art style. They rebooted the game roughly 6 months ago which is why you haven't seen anything about itI didn't know it had been rebooted but yeah, this game has been around for AGES. Also, Codemasters don't exactly have the best track record with FPSes soooo don't hold your breath.
That said, Edge Magazine liked what they saw and made it sound less shit than it first appeared.
Just tried the demo, and I honestly want to go back to Duke Nukem and apologize for being so critical. I don't even know where to begin - 10 minutes of this game left my head spinning.
Terrible control decisions, janky movement and animations, endlessly spawning AI that either hits you with pinpoint accuracy from far away or just runs around in circles not seeing you standing next to them, and no story - I'm not sure it's possible for a voiceover to be more generic (or sound more bored while talking to you.) I want to see a GB review just so they can experience this game in full.

Half-press of the LT button...
Wait, what the fuck? Are you saying it's like Resident Evil 4 and 5, where you can't shoot and move at the same time? That seems very counter-intuitive to what they were going for... I'm going to have to try this game out to see how shit it really is.
No, you can move and shoot at the same time. You can run and shoot normally, without aiming at all. Doing a "half-press" on the LT causes you to kinda zoom in and be more accurate. You can move and shoot while doing that as well. If you press LT all the way in, then you are frozen in place in a sort of cover mode. While in that cover mode you can duck behind cover, lean left/right, etc. by using the left analog stick. By the way, the term "half-press" is from the game, not me.Are you saying it's like Resident Evil 4 and 5, where you can't shoot and move at the same time?
Medal of Honor Airborne did the same thing and that was a good game, but just the PC version. Console version was a frustrating mess and you had to hold in right stick to move while aimed (shift on PC)The demo was awful. When I wanted to aim with the left trigger I couldn't move and shoot. It forced me to stand still and aim from a cover position. The shooting was poor and their attempt at a skill shot system is laughable compared to Bulletstorm.

My bad;).
Why am I not surprised?
I played a little earlier at a friends house and i dug it, i won't go out and spend $65 on it and it's not a 8/10,9/10 etc. game but honestly i enjoyed it more than most "generic" shooters out there, i dig the old school arcade shooter field where you don't rely on stupid perks or any of that, none of that iron sight stuff it's just straight up raise hell and blow shit up, i think that is fun.
I will defiantly pick this up, but most likely in a week when it goes on sell for 29.99 because it isn't going to sell more than a handful of copies, im sure BB/Amazon will have it for $30 before the end of september.
It's the worst demo that I've played in recent memory, I sometimes wonder what the mentality behind releasing a demo of an obviously poor game is. Surely you should try and keep its badness a secret until people have spent their money?
I want to know where the hell the Quick Look disappeared to. It was scheduled for today, now I am sad.
