Hidden Dave Snider reference? Does he have a Ben Reilly fixation that we're unaware of?

Yeah I got a Snider gun also. Sold it pretty quick because it was kind of weak but of course I thought of Dave. That probably isn't a good thing?

Yeah, the connection to Dave is about as tenuous as saying that the giant mines around Tiny Tina's Workshop are a reference to Giant Bomb.

Still, I totally thought of Dave upon finding my first Snider as well.

I've been browsing giantbomb since 2008 and I don't really know much about the guy, other than his name. I just read reviews and check quicklooks. I don't listen to podcasts. I guess i'm not part of the cult.

Why wouldn't developers know the names of people reviewing their games? Giant Bomb isn't a small obscure blog by some high school kid. Even if you take away that part the people making these games are also fans of video games. At least one (I think two) Gearbox dude was on during one of the E3 podcasts. Stop being silly and throwing around a word like cult.

I'd like to point out that he isn't the only person in he world who's last name is Snider. I am obviously talking about his sister. No one else.

A bit of a stretch don't you think? There are lots of people with the last name Snider and wouldn't be surprised if someone on the development team.

Unless there is some kind of meme referring to Dave as Scarlet Snider, I'd think this is just a coincidence.

You =/= everyone else. A lot of these developers know a lot of the people from the GB crew.

Is it a Snider reference? No, do they know Snider? Maybe? If you actually listened to the podcast, watched the E3 stuff you would see how many big name devs come in and talk to these guys and you say you are not part of the "cult" yet you been around since it started in 08? C'mon son.

You guys can go ahead and relax. I don't think anyone's seriously under the impression that it was a reference to one Dave Snider.

For those of you who don't know, there is a comic book character called Scarlet Spider. And he's quite infamous.

just like dave fortress , these guns are fun for novelty value but ultimately you get bored fast and move on.

Snider is simply a type of sniper rifle.
