I've been kinda following this and I think that guy is completely off base. Tiny Tina is kinda an awful character but I don't agree with her being 'actively racist' as he was saying. I doubt that's why he was fired though he responded to a lot of people with a lot of profanity and in a pretty insulting manner (granted some of them had it coming) but I doubt his bosses were super pleased with that kind of behaviour. That's just a guess though.

I can't see how anyone could consider this racist, its just ridiculous. Did I miss the all the articles written by African American Equality groups or individuals. I think this whole thing is just overblown and completely stupid. If this were a black character portraying stereotypes of any Caucasians I don't think anyone would notice or even care. They created a character, they gave her some personality and mannerism they thought would make her funny and interesting, in that respect they succeeded. I don't think this character portrayed African Americans in a negative light, so to me there does not seem to be any problem here.

If we are going to call this racist then we have to call that racist as well, and I'm not sure anyone is dumb enough to want to make that argument. Oh, and if we really want to talk about racism then maybe we should point a finger at the guy telling us that a character shouldn't be able to say certain words because of the color skin. "Only black people can use those words!" That is basically his argument.

I can understand not liking him, but there is no way you can convince me he is anywhere near the worst character ever. You can't even ballpark that argument. I don't hate the game. I didn't like it, but whatever. I think the writing was really awful though. I would hope most people would agree, but whatever. People aren't talking about the game here, they are talking the writing, and I think there was a lot of negative response to that right when the game released.

Shame. Sacco used to host the WoW Insider show (maybe he still does?) when I used to listen that and I found him to be pretty engaging. Having not played BL2, I assume based on comments that Tiny Tina is a short, female version of Fred Durst (otherwise known as the most offensive white person to ever actively use urban lingo). Sorry, but as others said, that's not racist. I know white people that talk like that and yes, they annoy the piss out of me. They don't do it to be racist, they do it because they think it makes them sound cool.

Moral - this is a really stupid thing to start a crusade over. Even if it wasn't, if you aren't black, it's not your fight to start. If the racism/bigotry isn't directed at you and the people the racism/bigotry is directed at aren't bitching, then shut the fuck up (you hear me, white knighters??). That entire game tried way to hard to be funny. Which Tiny Tina is the epitome of the entire reason I absolutely loathe Borderlands 2. The game is just constantly clubbing you over the head with jokes. Its like your really obnoxious friend who tells jokes and then yells loudly "HEY THAT WAS FUNNY RIGHT GUYS!" and won't go away until you nod in agreement. There is an art and form to comedy that Borderlands 2 just wholesale misses the boat on.

I have Borderlands 2 but I hate to look up Tiny Tina on Youtube. You both are right on about that game. I should have known better though because I thought the same thing about the first one.
