Is "Claptrap's Birthday Bash" the best quest in the game?

No, Shoot This Guy in the Face is.

I've played through the game like 5 times and I still laugh audibly whenever I get to that quest.

#3 Posted by Hizang (8532 posts) -

@StarvingGamer: But does that quest have you dancing with Claptrap, NO!

Good! Because Claptrap is one of the worst things ever!

I do love Claptrap... but Face McShooty is F***ing hilarious.

This is a tough choice. Thanks @StarvingGamer you've shaken my love for Claptrap. I'm still going to say yes to Birthday Bash being the best quest in the game. I like little robots just a little more than I like crazy people/shooting people in the face. I hope that doesn't sound as weird as I think it does...

They did a good job in this game of making him fairly likeable. He had a lot more lines, and he was far less prominent than he was in the first one, so he gets a pass this time around. Now, if you wanna say that about Scooter, I will defend you to the death.

@The_Nubster: That's funny, because talking to Scooter has always been genuinely hilarious to me. The only character I really don't like at all is actually probably Marcus. He's one-note in the most boring way.

#8 Posted by Humanity (9589 posts) -

I found it to be one of the funniest ones in the game

#9 Posted by SexyToad (2760 posts) -

What about the quest where you kill yourself? I found that fun to do.

#10 Posted by Neurotic (632 posts) -

All of the ones mentioned here are preeety good. I also liked the Tea Party line of quests you get from Tina (but I also didn't totally hate Tina like a lot of people so take that as you will) and that one where you help a docile skag.

I was just gonna say the same. I think Marcus is a boring character. He annoys me to no end with this stupid, stupid one-liners! I think Claptrap is funny (except that dubstep and beatbox), but scooter wasn't as funny in this game.

#12 Posted by BlindRapture (106 posts) -

I found Claptrap's Epic Quest to be funnier.

#13 Posted by laserbolts (5331 posts) -

Considering all you do is stand there while listening to Claptrap I would say its the worst in the game.

#14 Posted by Joeyoe31 (820 posts) -

It's easily the most dry humor part of the game so yes.

#15 Posted by Smokay (525 posts) -

The end of the A I core quest line is pretty funny, and the only reason its funny is because I didnt actually listen to the song the first times I did it.And then I realized, well im pretty sure, theres a line thats:"Ohhhh you looookk fine with sperm in your haaaiirrr".

#16 Posted by Ramone (2975 posts) -

It's up there, I also enjoyed Face McShooty.

#17 Posted by ShaggE (6551 posts) -

Face McShooty gets my vote, but the birthday bash did have me chortling. I actually felt a little bad for him.

#18 Posted by Getz (3098 posts) -

My favorite quest has you restoring power to that one outpost in the beginning, because it has the line where Scooter tells you he's spying on you in the bathroom out of friendship.

I felt very sorry for Claptrap, I would have gone to his party.

Where abouts is this face shooting quest, I haven't got there yet and I'm in the "Second" Sanctuary.

@Hizang: He's on a ledge in Thousand Cuts.

Team McShooty!

"Maybe you're weighing the moral pros and cons but let me assure you that OH MY GOD SHOOT ME IN THE GODDAMNED FACE WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!" -Face McShooty, RIP

Likewise. That quest had me cracking up.

@Hizang The two options should've been "yes" and "yes".
#25 Posted by dudeglove (8015 posts) -

If we're counting DLC, I burst out laughing at the sand pirates union sidequest. Small and short, but I feel it justified my purchase.

Sounds kind of dumb (probably?) but I find the game's dialog and plot is pretty good when you're not actually paying attention to it. Even though the lead writer is a complete fucktard, they fill the gap neatly between the action.

#26 Posted by Village_Guy (2635 posts) -

No, I actually found it a little depressing :(

Shoot That Guy In The Face was the funniest in my opinion.

#27 Posted by TaliciaDragonsong (8699 posts) -

Faceshootyman is my favorite. Love the way he keeps talking when you accept the quest, followed by the quick "thank you!" when you do shoot him.

For me he's second in line to Mal the misguided Hyperion Robot <3 Love his incidental dialogue you hear as he's walking around his den, and what's more the weapon his quest set gives you is usually incredible.

First playthrough I got this awesome corrosive pistol with a high firerate; it was the only weapon I needed to take down The Warrior. NG+ I was surprised to find that it gave me a completely different weapon. Still a pistol, but it dished out an absurd amount of damage. The way would fire was pretty weird at that, like it shoots a small array of relatively slow-moving projectiles which just pour away most enemies health. Kinda like a shotgun, yet it also only takes one bullet per shot as well. It was an absolute life saver considering how insanely difficult NG+ can get when playing solo, especially when I went up against that Saturn robot (?) in Fyrestone.

I liked the TMNT one.

That is a great quest except that Jack's dialogue gets cut off by the respawn robot. The sound designers really fucked up this game. Caravan comin through...

I'm for Shoot This Guy in the Face as the best quest and I support Face McShooty for Best New Character.

#31 Posted by TheUnsavedHero (1255 posts) -

I felt that Claptrap just needed a hug...

The Face McShooty quest though, is better. Nothing complicated. Straight forward. Shoot the man in the face. Ding! Level Up!

#32 Posted by Rotnac (783 posts) -

I'm with everyone else on Face McShooty. Probably my favourite one.

Also, Innuendobot 5000.

I think my favorite was the one with Handsome Jack's Grandma. Pretty much all his quests are great.

#35 Edited by C0V3RT (1377 posts) -

It was pretty good. I think my favorite part was the text you get when you turn in the quest. It's something like, "You went to Claptrap's birthday party. It got pretty awkward."

#36 Edited by GunstarRed (5298 posts) -

Face McShooty. followed by either P3RV-E or the mission where you stick body parts on the robot that wants to be human.

#37 Posted by xyzygy (10030 posts) -

I honestly think Tiny Tina's tea party questline is the best.

#38 Posted by Philantrophy (354 posts) -

The Tiny Tina quest had a sad ending

#39 Posted by PenguinDust (12554 posts) -

I kind of like the one where you wander around Sanctuary listening to Patricia Tannis's torture journals. It's labeled as "hard" but it takes only a few moments to complete. The tapes themselves are mesmerizing.

#40 Posted by j3ffro919 (243 posts) -

I thought the quest was funny, but ultimately felt bad for the little guy.

#41 Posted by Wheatley117 (17 posts) -

I have not yet finished the game, but in my opinion, the Tea party questline is just hilarious. And of course the quest, where you have to find a new body for that robot who wants to kill you

#42 Posted by Bouke (1402 posts) -

I also really like "Poetic License" where you have to find inspiration for Scooter´s poem, the mission itself it pretty funny and the pay off is just great!

#44 Posted by KingOfAsh (51 posts) -

Poetic Licence is the best

#45 Posted by jillsandwich (762 posts) -

My favorite quest is the one where the lady fucking shoots herself after she hears Scooter's love poem. It was just a great moment where me and my three friends were just all saying: "There's no fucking way that's going happen, that would be TOO fucked up", then it did, and we all just burst out laughing.

Probably my favorite moment of the game is the part where Jack delivers the speech about the guy with the spoon. God damn, Daemon Clark is pretty incredible. Jack is hilarious when he's supposed to be, and down-right terrifying other times. Great character, in my opinion.

#46 Posted by pweidman (2342 posts) -

I'd have to say Mal's quests get me chuckling more consistently than any other. The tongue-in-cheek social commentary is just great there.

#47 Edited by Coombs (3449 posts) -

Call me immature but I still laugh my ass off every time I have to kill a BonerFart

Or

Any of the ones where you can listen to that robot who wants to be human,

Some of the best lines in the game come from that insane robot
