Return to Pandora, five years after the events of the first game in Gearbox's Borderlands 2.

October 9th Compatibility Pack Costs 4.29 Billion Points!

After updating Borderlands 2 today, I went to download the compatibility pack in the DLC. The first screen comes up as it costing -1 MP. I thought, "Cool. I get a point back. Kinda neat". Trying to proceed brought me to the screen that said I do not have enough MP to purchase the pack because it costs 4,294,967,295 Microsoft Points! I realize this is an error, but has anyone else had this problem? Maybe it was a code included in the Ultimate Loot Chest Edition...

Happened to me too.

@beanZfury: Gearbox's twitter account confirmed it is a mistake and they are looking into it ATM.

Damn! And I maxed out my credit card to get enough points... Guess I'm good for the next Capcom fighting game though.

Would have been a hilarious joke though....

yeah, everyone on 360 is having the same problem. It was working fine this morning, and the sad part is I can't even play with my friends until this is fixed. Guess it's time to check out XCOM.

DLC is usually a waste of money, but that is just going too far...

Edit: in real money, that's 53,687,091.19 (more than million bucks)

Really hope this gets fixed soon, I can't play with anyone.

Somebody do the math on that into dollars so we can use that as a "bad DLC" scapegoat. Horse armour needs to rest.

its probably just a con to trick everyone into putting a few points on, at first i thought maybe i needed at least 1 point to be able to purchase it even though it would still refund me another point. imagine how many die hard gamers will purchase the £5 pack just to see if it works....mistake my anus

That's the largest number that you can represent for an unsigned 32-bit integer. -1 when it is represented as an unsigned int is that huge number. Guess someone forgot to give the actual point amount.

Same. It was fine when I got the dlc in the morning.

You beat me to it, we get this story every few months. Microsoft uses to prevent content from being bought before its release time. Someone probably forgot to flip the switch and give it the right value.

Yeah, no. It's a common bug.

Mine listed the cost as -1 points. I laughed for about 4 seconds and that got annoyed

Were people downloading this when they were having issues about getting Badass Rank and Skins/Heads reset today? Was is the Compatibility pack that was causing the issues and not the patch or Mechromancer DLC?

Weird, it worked fine for me this morning. I wonder what happened...

#20 Posted by Dalai (6264 posts) - 8 months, 9 days ago

Even Bill Gates would think that's too much money for DLC.

#21 Posted by Morbid_Coffee (948 posts) - 8 months, 9 days ago

It's fixed now.

#22 Posted by SomeDeliCook (1728 posts) - 8 months, 9 days ago

2^32? Cool. Give them 1 point more and it'll wrap around to 0 =D

Unless they're using 64 signed bits then =/
