I'm trying to decide, Amazon 10 dollars off or gamestop with additional content? I dislike gamestop but having an extra mob to fight in game is a very intriguing pre-order bonus.

Amazon because it comes to my house and is $16 cheaper after sales tax.

Steam because I don't have to do anything.

I'm going to Gamestop tomorrow for trade-ins, so I'll probably just get my pre-order there.

#5 Posted by RobotHamster (4175 posts) -

Nowhere because I can't afford it... but if I could then steam.

Is an extra mob worth 10 dollars? I bought from Amazon. 10 dollars is the best preorder bonus you could get. Plus it's Amazon.

I used to get pretty much everything from Amazon, but since they dropped their 99 cent release date delivery, I see almost no good reason to ever pre-order from there again. The one exception is if you're a member of Amazon Prime--really fast free shipping / Netflix-ish streaming video--but that's kind of pricey for as much as I'd use the service.

If you have at least two or three games to pick up this Holiday season, your best bet is probably Best Buy. You pay 15 dollars one time, and you can get 20 dollars in credit for pretty much every AAA blockbuster title that's coming out this year. It's a pretty good deal: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=322426

I'm a pretty big fan of Borderlands, though, so I did end up pre-ordering at GameStop, which is something I haven't done in ages. I want all the content for that game that I can get my hands on.

Lastly, you should know that Gearbox has said that GameStop's exclusive Creature Slaughter Dome WILL be made available to purchase after the game has been out for a little while. It will not be exclusive forever.

@SpaceInsomniac: Yeah, I've been a prime member for years, I do almost all of my shopping exclusively through Amazon. It's a lot easier than trying to go out and wrangle a baby.

I wish through Amazon. Alas, I'm too poor. At least I just beat Borderlands because of PS+, I'm going to platinum the game and I have a copy of Mass Effect 3 on it's way by Wednesday. I'd say those 2 are good enough replacements.

Anyone tried the Amazon digital game store? Do you get pre-loading there, ala Steam?

#11 Posted by Yummylee (22062 posts) -

Shopto. Forever and always.

#12 Posted by BraveToaster (12589 posts) -

Amazon... dat $10 credit.

#13 Posted by RandomInternetUser (6789 posts) -

I won't be able to buy it until the 28th, so nowhere unfortunately :(

#14 Edited by falserelic (5468 posts) -

I'm just going to go to gamestop raw and just buy it on release day. Sense it will be my birthday that day. I figure it will be a nice gift to buy for myself. If gamestop don't have it I'll look somewhere else.

#15 Posted by BeachThunder (12094 posts) -

I preordered from Green Man Gaming with a 25% off coupon :P

#16 Posted by krazy_kyle (715 posts) -

Shopto or Amazon. Primarily Amazon.

#17 Posted by natetodamax (19212 posts) -

Amazon for sure

#18 Posted by OneKillWonder_ (1788 posts) -

Amazon. Although since I have that Tuesday off of work I kind of wish I pre-ordered from GS just so I could pick it up at midnight. Oh well.

#19 Posted by Zidd (1851 posts) -

I preordered from 2k so I could get a vault hunters edition for PC. I really wish they did a digital deluxe edition with the DLC and digital versions of the artbook and stuff that came with the vault hunters edition because I'd have bought that instead.

Steam for me.

#21 Posted by seannao (227 posts) -

I hit up Green Man Gaming in August since they had a short sale on it for 40 bucks

#22 Posted by AjayRaz (12441 posts) -

EB Games of course

#23 Posted by Sogeman (872 posts) -

PSN because it's the same price as the store I'd have bought it from (have credit from them or I'd have ordered it from Amazon). I also get the bonus and can preload it.

#24 Posted by SmilingPig (1340 posts) -

I don't preorder, I just go to an EBgames on day one and get someone else’s preorder copy with bonus.

TY for not caring EBgames.

#25 Posted by Grillbar (1872 posts) -

out of the two amazon since i despise gamestop. and amazon has done nothing but good things for me.

i still dont know if im buying it on pc or ps3. and i really dont care about pre-orders

#26 Posted by dvand987 (74 posts) -

@falserelic: You might as well drop 5 bucks on the preorder before release though cuz you get a bunch of additional content, including that new character class when they finish it. It's my b-day the 15 so this is goona be my gift to myself as well man, happy birthday duder.

#27 Posted by Butano (1746 posts) -

Green Man Gaming yesterday, cause with a coupon code stacked on top of a current sale it was $36!

#28 Posted by _Chad (962 posts) -

Gamestop. I ordered the $99 version. I am also getting free one day shipping because the messed up during processing.

#29 Posted by admachina (190 posts) -

Steam - ordered a 4-pack right when it went on sale for the bonus 4-pack discount plus like 10% off of that

I didn't know about the new class and the extra content. I might actually pre-order it now thanks. Btw... Happy Birthday too man.

Gamestop. Because it's by my house and I have friends that work there.

Yeah but then you have to go to Best Buy to get your games. That's not worth being payed 5 dollars the first time and 20 dollars for each additional game.

Amazon Prime is a great investment, once you have it you can just get everything of Amazon! I bought two mechanical pencils off Amazon last week, they're really nice looking! Saved me a trip to Staples, plus Staples really doesn't have any pencils this nice anyway judging by the fact these are nicer than the ones I've gotten in the last few years. Also got some pens. They're not as snazzy but they're cool.

All ready locked and loaded on Steam

used my free month trial of amazon prime and ordered that And AC3, dat $10 plus cheap shipping!

#35 Posted by Capum15 (4930 posts) -

I'm attempting to do it with GreenManGaming because $36. I just need to call my bank and see if they can let the damn transaction through.

Gamestop, because being able to slowly pay off something helps when you go for limited stuff like that loot chest, besides my OCD would have killed me if I missed that DLC anyway.

Plus being friendly with local businesses gets you cool shit some times...Damn things like four foot long.

#38 Posted by Subject2Change (2966 posts) -

Green Man Gaming - $36.

#39 Posted by SoyBob (161 posts) -

In the UK, preordered from Argos because it was £18/$30 for the xbox version. I don't think I get anything fancy with it, and knowing my luck, they'll cancel my order stating it was a misprice.

#40 Posted by FakeKisser (352 posts) -

@BeachThunder: Yep, me, too. Got it for $36. :)

#41 Posted by mracoon (4972 posts) -

I pre-ordered from ShopTo because I've had a good experience with them in the past and they usually deliver a day or two early.

I'm getting a $60 gift card to walmart so I'll, reluctantly, be going there.

Question, is the extra dlc character available from preorders everywhere or just Gamestop? I only see it advertised at GS but people seem to talk like all preorders get it.

#43 Posted by Ben_H (3383 posts) -

Steam because I don't need more stupid boxes crowding up my shelves. And I'm not gonna preorder. I'll just buy it on launch day. Preloading isn't a big deal because I have fast enough internet that I could just buy it before school and it'll be done when I get home.

#44 Posted by nerdsbeware (223 posts) -

Amazon, already ordered and everything. I'm not big on pre-order bonuses or anything really, what comes with it is cool it was more of a "I don't want to go to Best Buy/EB/Target/etc etc" deal. Much prefer to come home and have it waiting for me.

#45 Posted by dvand987 (74 posts) -

@Bane122: The extra character class comes free with all pre-orders. The way it works is that when ever they finish making that class and release it, you will get it for free, if you pre-ordered. The other thing is if you get the game at gamestop, you get access to some dlc before everyone else.

#46 Posted by JSwan13 (285 posts) -

Greenman gaming for $36, duh.

#47 Posted by PenguinDust (12555 posts) -

Amazon. The creature dome bonus content from Gamestop doesn't sound all the interesting to me. I figure I'll get enough of that in the main game.

Okay, thanks for the info. It's really weird how no one else besides GS seems to mention it. Is it known yet how we'll access her once she's out? Like a code pack in or on the receipt or something?

I pre-ordered from Amazon for the crazy edition that comes with the loot case.

#50 Posted by Nightriff (5153 posts) -

Waiting for the GotY edition, can I pre order that yet?
