Borderlands 2, More Guns, More Fun

There are games that give you power, there are games that give you control and then there are games that are utterly insane. Yes, Borderlands 2 is one of them!

Borderlands 2 is the sequel of one of the few successful Shoot 'n Loot games of the last decade.

Like in the last game you are a vault hunter, a warrior with special skills that seeks the treasures inside the legendary Vault of Pandora!

The basic mechanics are very similar to the prequel with some new features and a lot more stuff going on. The game plays like a shooter, with lots and lots of guns at your disposal and 3 skill trees to specialize your character.

The 4 standard classes are more or less the same as B1, with some minor differences like Zero is much more melee oriented then Mordecai, Salvador uses the Gunzerker ability and has 2 big weapons against Bricks punches and Maya has a much more offensive ability then Lilith. Axton plays the same as Roland, his turrets are more offensive then Rolands supporting one.

The new areas of Pandora are much bigger and funnier to explore then the previous games ones, they range from Icy Glaciers to a Flying Mining Ship to the Deserts! And they added a new vehicle with 4 seats (so you and all of your friends can ride in a single car and die in a single car, of course).

The graphics look very good and the art style is very pleasant to the eyes, the landscapes are beautiful and the post-processing effect are pure art! (Especially when you burn a Midget called Matchstick)

The sounds are very well done. When you fire with a shotgun is like hearing a real shotgun and when someone speaks to you the voice comes from their exact position.

The PC option menu is absolutely awesome! Scalable UI, FoV, Advanced graphics option, oh Gearbox, did you listen to your fans?

So, everything is better about this sequel, they've done a very good work and I'm very pleased with Gearbox. And they addressed the biggest issue I had with Borderlands 1. The Story!

You'll come to love the story and the characters in this one (you'll even love your enemy!). It is well written, it has the exact amount of humor that it needed and it has the most crazy cast you've ever seen in a game!

If you seek for a fun game to play with your friends (or in solo, it plays well too) and have virtually hours and hours of Shooting and Looting this game is for you!

      A Better Borderlands. 0

Borderlands 2 is not a game I expected to spend much time with. The first Borderlands was interesting for a few hours but quickly devolved into nothing more than an MMO style grind. The quests, characters, and story never became interesting to me. I am able to perceive that it would have been a good time in a co-op setting but I was never in position to play it that way. Instead of using story to propel you forward it relied heavily on its loot mechanic to keep your interest.I find myself less a...

Easily the best game this year 0

Some people tout this game as being a mere extension of the first game. In many ways they are right, but in many more ways, they are dead fucking wrong.Borderlands 1 was a surprise hit, taking Gearbox to a new level of game design. It was a FPS based around loot - an uncommon concept that was executed in a moderately good way. There was a great deal of variety in the randomized weapons, but a lot of them were very similar to other ones. The randomization system was impressive and lackluster all ...
