So I play a lot of video games of all kinds. I can't think of another game ever that has given me a headache or made me feel sick simply from playing it. However this happens about an hour in every time I play Borderlands. Maybe it has something to do with the vivid art style? That's not to say I don't love the game, I still play it, I am just not able to marathon play it at anytime.
So does anyone else get this when they play Borderlands? Or is there another game that you can't take in large doses?

Anyone else get headaches from Borderlands?
I think art style does have a big role in it. I have trouble with really bright, flashy animations against dark backgrounds. Games like Geometry Wars and Beat Hazard will wear me down pretty fast.
Ditched the game after the first 2 boss battles but no it didnt cause any headaches. sorry to hear get well soon xoxoxox

It messes with my head and I've played first person games for years and this is the only game that has ever effected me! still love it myself though
Never had a problem like yours playing any game. They only game that kind of messes with me is geometry wars, all those flashes are really hard on your eyes.
The same thing happened to me... sort of.
I've never experienced any kind of motion sickness due to a game, but for some reason when I first started playing Borderlands I found the game disorienting (even though I play a ton of FPS) and got a bit of a headache. This only happened the first time I played it, and only lasted an hour or so. I ended up finishing the game without any further problems. I guess I acclimated to the art style or something.
" It's probably motion sickness. Take some Dramamine. "Oh god, here we go with the drugs...lol. Drugs fix everything!! Hahaha. Dramamine doesn't seem like the right thing for this sickness though...
When I played Borderlands for the first time, my entire family died. There sure is something about that game.
I would get constant headaches while playing GTA 4. The greasy, blurry graphics really are painful to look at after a while.
" It can make me feel drowsy, but no headaches. "Ditto! Me and a friend are currently playing, and we'll get through 3-4 quests, then we'll both want to stop. Not sure what my friends deal is, but I just get incredibly drowsy, almost like an effect of taking cold medication. It's not a matter of me being tired, as once I turn the console off, I'm wide awake, plus this doesn't happen with any of my other games. It's strange, as I really love the game, and don't like saying it bores me to the point of wanting to sleep, but it just has this weird effect on me. It's just like turkey. Exact same love and effect. Borderlands = Turkey.
@mazik765: Oh yes my friend, I thought I was the only one but I also get very sick and have headaches if I play Borderlands for a long time. I don't know why and I really like the game. Unfortunately some games do that to me. Medal of Honor as someone said, GTA and Saints Row games etc. Right now I still have a headache from Bordelands
100% YES! I get headaches after 20 mins of playing, every time with Borderlands. There's also a slight drowsy effect that kicks in after extended sessions. Stop playing the game after an hour they're gone. Only other game that did the same was Perfect Dark Zero. I play a shit ton of games and never experience these symptoms with any other game. At first I thought it was the low frames per second in first person view, but now I really do think it's the cartoony art style in FP view that does it.... I'm gonna have to soldier on with BL2, for gamings sake...
