The GOTY ed is currently going for $59.99 but if you were to buy everything off xbl this week it would save you around $5.00. The main game itself is 2400mp($29.99) + all the DLC ($25.00) So in grand total it comes to around $55.00.

Yeah but you're paying for the convenience of not having to download any...

After hearing that nothing new was on the disk, it made me wonder what actually WAS cheaper. This also makes me disappointed with 2K.

I want to point out there have been several Steam sales, and if you look around you can usually buy retail PC versions of the game and DLC cheaper too (that's how my friend and I did it).
 
The GOTY edition seems like a way to keep the prices higher...

Here I am thinking I should trade in my Borderlands (PS3) and just get the GOTY edition, I'll just purchase the rest of the content once I get some money (Poor college student).

Duke Nukem demo makes it all worthwhile.

I just downloaded the game. Just to confirm you can download the game in Japan. I think it is because it costs points instead of real cash like the rest of the Games On Demand. Thanks. I guess I saved 5 Bucks, maybe...who knows with space bucks.

borderlands goty goes for 40 dollars doesnt it? at least that is what i Paid, that would mean it is cheaper getting the box

Yeah but on XBL, the actual main game isn't included. 
 
So if you don't own the main game anymore, the goty release is cheaper.
 
And even if you own the main game: trading it in and getting the goty version would most likely be cheaper, too.

plus I strongly prefer to play from HD, less noise faster loading time... no need to put the game dvd (yea im lassy)

GOTY from what I've heard has a Borderlands discs and codes to download the DLC, so unlike the Mad Moxxi/Dr.Ned disc you can't pass it around to your friends.
