Im thinking of picking up Borderlands GOTY for PS3.

    1) I wanted to play split screen with my friend does it have the choice between vertical and horizontal?
    2) Is there a big framerate drop if we do play split screen?
    3) Was there a patch to fix the problem with people losing their saved data?

    Thanks

@X19:  Can't really speak to the first two, I only played online co-op, but yes, that patch was released sometime last fall.

I can't answer any of your questions, but I will say that online is very buggy, especially the chat. It won't work alot of the time.

@X19:  1. I believe it is always vertical.
    2. There is considerable frame rate drop except when in smaller dungeons.
    3. There are patches, but some people are still having issues, and Gearbox is not going to fix them as it looks.

@X19: I only played splitscreen once, on the 360, but you definitely couldn't choose between vertical and horizontal.  I forget which it defaults to (vertical?), but that's all you get.

    1. Splitscreen is vertical, although I've heard if you play on an SDTV, it switches to horizontal.
    2. There can be a big frame rate drop if there's a lot of action on screen. Framer ate drops are worse when playing online.

    1) Vertical on HD tv's and Horizontal on SD - there is a way to trick the display, but I'm rather sure this also means downscaling the quality of the output.
    2) I've never experienced framerate drops big enough to ruin the experience.
    3) what they said.

I dont know if its just the ps3 version
But borderlands was not a very smooth game
I loved it and played through it with a friend on coop
singleplayer and splitscreen was bit sluggish was it like that on the 360?
Either way grab it great co-op game
