how do you get vertical splitscreen, it's on horizontal for me i want to change it?

If you're playing split screen on an SDTV, the game defaults to horizontal split screen. However, if it's an HDTV you're playing on, then it's going to be vertical. Unfortunately, you can't change that from any of the menus. The game doesn't give you a choice.

Actually it can be done. The game automatically defaults based on the size of the TV, so all you need to do is change the video output on your console (I did mine on a PS3, not sure about Xbox360). I changed my PS3 output from 480p to 1080p on my widescreen and it fixed the problem.
For all you veritical split naysayers, Borderlands is significantly improved with a vertical split, because you can actually see a weapon AND its stats at the same time. The menu is smaller, but as a result you have to do less scrolling.

@TheMustacheHero: @Metal_Gear_Sunny: Are you guys kidding? Do you not own widescreen displays or have you just never tried playing a horizontal splitscreen on one? Vertical split is the ONLY way to go on a widescreen television, even when not handled as deftly as it is in Borderlands.
now i am going to tell you the truth you go to display on you xbox360 settings change is to normal split-screen horizontal if you change is to widescreen split-screen is vertical can vertical has its ups vertical it how you play single player just all the bars are mashed together and the gun to the side like normal horizontal is the hole gun showing and that is kinda odd
