So we have a topic for the toughest boss fight....but what do you think is the most unique or interesting boss fight in a video game?

MGS4, That final Liquid Ocelot fight was EPIC

Psycho Mantis and the whole changing controller port thing.. that was pretty unique how he pretty much "reads your mind" in port 1 and cant in port 2

you have to shoot her psycho mantis doll off her string dodge all these dead bodies. You had to Syrnge yourself to improve your aim and then run to the doll equip it and then use the six axis to beat her.

It's gotta be The End in MGS3. It pretty much changed, in my view, what a boss fight could be.

Can't forget the 'fight' against the sorrow though.

The entire Shadow of the Colossus game. The game has nothing but boss fights, and they're all epic.

Chopper battle in episode 2

I don't know if I'd consider it the best boss fight, but I think the most impressed I'd ever been from a boss fight was the first time i played God Of War on PS2. At that point those were far and away the coolest boss fights I'd ever seen.

Portal was very unique.  RE4 wasn't the most unique, but definitely interesting.

Metal Slug X when you fight the giant alien. I mean what the hell was going on there?

I agree with some of the others mentioned, but I'd also like to mention the fight with Pious at the end of Eternal Darkness.  Not a particularly difficult fight, but it threw in an interesting twist with the ghosts.

Granfalloon from Symphony of the Night. You know, the large mass of bodies? It's the first time I've ever seen social commentary in a boss fight.

The Metal Gear Solid series has had some innovative bosses over the course of the series.  Psycho Mantis has been mentioned all ready, so I'm going to nominate The End from Snake Eater.  Probably the most accurate sniper battle to grace a video game. 

Also, that is ignoring all of the alternate options resulting in the death of The End.  I'm referring to the actual test o' patience.

Killer7's encounter with the Handsome Men was pretty unique as there were some fights that you couldn't win and some you couldn't lose. I guess that means it wasn't technically a boss fight, but either way, it's quite special.

The End in MGS 3. its not as difficult as some people make out but its hella cool and seriously unique and shitloads of fun.

It's general  consensus that Colossus # 13 is the best boss battle ever.

I like all of these mentions.  But I'm going to say Fatman from Meta Gear Solid 2.  After the battle (spoiler) you have to search for a bomb that will expolde soon and then you search under him and its there.  Also, the Sorrow was great because when I was going down the river, I see all the people who I have killed with slit throats and gunshot wounds.
