Brandon Roy played basketball in college at the University of Washington. He was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the sixth pick overall in the 2006 NBA draft. Roy was traded on draft day to the Portland Trail Blazers for the draft rights to Randy Foye. He has since become a three time All-Star and was the rookie of the year in 2007. Roy played mainly at the shooting guard position but is used occasionally at the small forward and point guard positions.
Roy was forced to retire after the 2010-2011 season because his knees had degenerated so much that he couldn't play professional basketball anymore. He made a comeback with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2012-2013 season, but could only play for five games before being forced out by a new knee injury. Roy was waived by Minnesota on May 10, 2013 and is now retired.
Roy was featured on the cover of NBA 10: THE INSIDE for PSP.
