    Overview

    Brian Schmidt is a composer and programmer in the video game industry. Brian started his career in video games in 1987 for Williams Electronic Games. Brian worked for Microsoft from 1998 until 2008 as the Xbox Audio and Voice Technologies program director. While working for Microsoft Brian was responsible for most of the Xbox and Xbox 360 audio architecture. Brian, while at Microsoft also created the start up sound for the Xbox.
     

    Career Achievements

    • Lifetime Achievement Award winner from the Game Audio Network Guild in 2008.
    • Creator of GameSoundCon, video game industry conference dedicated to music and sound design.
    • Brian's NARC theme was recorded and released by the band The Pixies.
    • Won the Game Audio Network Guild's  “Best New Technology award."
    • Brian is on the advisory board for the Game Developers Conference.
