Be glad there are games like Fable 2 (Hammer) and Bayonetta where females are respectable, awesome characters and not just used for their bodies.

Honestly the character models are pretty ugly, making a half decent looking female is probably more trouble than it's worth. Not to mention it would require several female VAs for the models unless they want to recylce the same one. In RPG's I can understand abit of rage about lacking a female character, but in Shooters it's never normally an option.

It makes sense really. Brink isn't set in a kitchen... so why would there be any women?

 
If OP was a chick.  Then it would be kinda cool to see female gamers wanting what normal gamers want.  The ability to emerge themselves by having a piece of their selves in-game.

its pro-female because the art style for some reason aims for an incredibly ugly look when it comes to human appearance, and they didnt want to subject females to the ugliness.

In Borderlands, three of the most significant NPCs are female.  One is batshit insane, another is derided by multiple characters even though she's in charge of the game's main town, and the last one is a super-mega-bitch prone to flying off the handle and sending her army around the place bullying people.
 
And two of the boss battle are actually against GIANT ANGRY VAGINAS.

There are plenty of great games with cool Female Protagonists, Tomb Raider, Bayonetta, Heavenly Sword.

Thank you, Zombiekitty. I am terribly disappointed that the latest and greatest RPG FPS from Bethesda does not have an option for me to create a FEMALE character. Their claim that they didn't want to spend the time on it borders on insulting. Maybe I just won't spend my time and money buying it.

Although I completely agree that a female perspective would be totally awesome, considering the art style and story (the "Rebellion" would most assuredly have at least a few warrior women), I don't think it's a big deal because females in war games aren't common enough to expect such a thing. I would recommend you send them a letter or create an online petition or something, because I'm totally behind you, 100%. 
 
The small-medium-large body proportions would look hilariously awesome on women characters: imagine a buff, stone-cold butch bitch as the heavy.
 
EDIT: A quick look-though of the comments shows a fairly large amount of people who are 'disappointed' with the no-female option. What war game have you played that allow you to play as females, and are there so many that you are so used it that now the lack of the option is 'anti-female'? There's no precedent for it, so I don't see how you can be 'disappointed'.

 lol whoa it can  also be argued tha TF2  team fortress 2 doesn't have any females as well.  oh  they keep hint ing at the pyro being a female,  but until they actually bother to let us see for sure and i mean  we see the pyro out of the suit  that's up for debate ain't it?  Well you still have the agency thathas females in it.  you better hope that comes out.
