I don't understand why this is a big deal. If a game is that shitty, you shouldn't have to play through the whole thing to know that the rest of it's gonna be just as shitty.

This is the same argument people used when Jeff reviewed Kane and Lynch, the guy probably played it on another tag or multiple tags.

He could have played through on another platform or on a debug build.

the review is pretty harsh compared to other sites and the disclosure notice mentions that they where unable to finish several missions. 12 hours played doesnt seem like a whole lot though.

1UP had a lower score, why isn't anyone else on their ass?

Seems a little unfair to be jumping to conclusions like that, reviewers tend to have multiple gamertags for this sort of thing and debug/early builds that reviewers would have been sent out wouldn't have had achievements.

Even if that's not the case, it's a multiplayer based FPS.  Putting in a good few hours in more than enough to get a good feel for the game.  It's not like he played half an RPG and stopped before some massive revelation.

It's been getting mostly decent reviews, but fan reception has been quite negative.  I don't see what the problem is if this guy decided quite quickly he doesn't like the game.

Not that I care about Gamerscore, but I took note of the fact that the reviewer's score is smaller than mine and it made me wonder how many other games he doesn't finish playing.

He probably played the majority of the game on a debug 360. A lot of really early review copies won't run on a retail 360 & thus he won't get achievements on his account for it. His time with the retail version would have just been to confirm that there aren't any differences between the version he played and the final retail version. People need to stop jumping to conclusions before he's had a chance to respond.

Games running on a debug console don't give out Gamerscore. Also, I would be surprised if he had a private or office account that doesn't get completely barraged with messages and friend requests at all hours.

I think the McElroy brothers are pretty damn good at what they do, so I doubt that Griffin would half-ass a review. I really don't think Achievements are a good indicator of the amount of time someone has played a game.

This is the dumbest fucking thing to whine about. He's probably got like 3 seperate gamertags (Y'know, like GiantBomb has about 50?) and Brink clearly isn't a good game anyway, look at the Quick Look.

After the nth "literally" I had to turn the video off or I might have thrown my laptop through the window.

On topic though, this is ridiculous.  Brink doesn't seem that great, and the game has been making questionable appearances for a long time now; I don't see why this is so shocking.
