"I think WW2 plus squad based is a no for me.
The game looks good though"
the squad based seems to be turning alot of people off me included, but it looks amazing and the AI is pretty good with the squad and looks easy enough to get used to just think of them as like an air strike on COD4 basically
I am totally over this game, it still looks bad and it has been delayed near a dozen times.... its sad.
i thought it looked pretty bad until i saw that livewire demo on ign. i mite be checkin this one out...
I am excited for the game. Hopefully the awful face animations doesn't drag the story down too much. I still enjoy WWII games, and the BiA series is a favorite of mine.
i dont believe your story, but i am excited for this game, i loved the first two, and online will be awesome!
"I am totally over this game, it still looks bad and it has been delayed near a dozen times.... its sad."Lol, true.
I didn't see much on it but I thought it looked kewl :P I'll be holding off to see what reviewers say about it tho... I dun want another Haze.
"Passchendaele and Vimy Ridge are World War I battles for any one who does not know. Oh and Canadians were Stormtroopers before the Germans were."Let's make a game of walking towards machine guns?
"You can always tell if a person is interesting or ignorant is if they add to an idea or dismiss it.I woudln't call it ignorance.
Trench warfare is something I would like to see done in a video game, it would be hard to do it well but it may be able to be done by better developers than myself.
I have an idea for a WWI game where you are either on your own or with a squad of men lost after one of the larger of the WWI battles, a sort of survival game where you must hunt, conserve your ammo and supplies. Hope you don't run into enemies as you try to regain contact with your side (British) but you also have to deal with discrimination because the protagonist is Irish. I also wanted a real gun mechanic where guns freeze, jam or break down."
Survival? It's basically just grassy fields, if you get lost in No Mans Land you're retarded and fucked anyway. The major battles are pretty much just a lot of troops just marching towards enemy trenches and being gunned down by machine guns.
Although being shelled, and defending a trench line would be kind of cool.
As for guns jamming, I'd love to see that too.
That happens quite often in real life, particularly with modern guns like the M4...
While I've never played around with M4's, I find Ar-15's to not be all that reliable.
Also I wonder how well that Ross Rifle Canadians used in WW1 worked.
I have one I got from my grandfather, it has a straight bolt action so... I'm not really going to use it for fear that the bolt catching thing will fail and I'll get hit in the face by flying metal.
"Alright, I take back my previous statement about ignorance. As for what I meant by survival. I meant that a small group of soldiers come together after becoming lost after a battle like Passchendaele, this often happened when soldiers were mistaken for dead or knocked unconscious by shells and abandoned. From that point on with no working radio or support they have to survive while trying to find there own army. This would take place from 1917 to 1918 (End of the War) and go across central Europe, in order to cross long distances it would be in Acts, where a short time has passed but they are now closer to Belgium so on and so forth. Almost picture this new Farcry coming out, the night and day systems and the way the enviroment is affected. This would take place over the year so all weather would be included and the way that weather effected weaponry, can't fire a WWI gun with wet bullets. WWI guns are a bit different but some are the same, like the Colt, the Enfield, the Springfield and the Gewehr were all common. Also think about if your following deer tracks and find that the deer has been killed by a group of German troops, do you risk a loud gun battle and get rewarded with supplies and a deer, or move on and risk hunger?"Actually reading that there doesn't sound like all that bad of an idea, it's kind of a nice original way of going about it.
Sorry for dismissing it so quick before, this actually sounds interesting when you put it like that.
I got every crappy PS2 port of this game. Road to Hill 30 and Earned in Blood. They honestly sucked compared the the xbox and PC versions, but the voice acting, theme, and the story was great so i kept playing.
I will probably be getting this.
