The 6th installment in Ubisoft's World War II Brothers in Arms series is scheduled to be released on the anniversary of Market Garden, September 23, 2008 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. A limited edition contains a 6" figure of Sgt. Matt Baker, a book, collectible case, and other swag.
Brothers In Arms Hell's Highway tells the story of Operation Market Garden (the largest airborne operation in human history) through the eyes of sergeant Matt Baker. The game is a first person shooter, but with an emphasis on strategically controlling your squad to provide covering and suppressing fire while you attempt to flank the enemy.Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway is the 3rd installment in the Brothers in Arms series of video games. The player takes control of Sergeant Matt Baker, a soldier of the 101st Airborne Division, during Operation Market Garden in the late stages of World War II. It was released on September 23rd 2008 on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and was later released on PC on September 24th 2008. The game has many new features, including the returning ability to command a squad. The game also introduces new specialized units (Bazooka and Machine Gun teams) with their own advantages and disadvantages. The bazooka team, for example, can destroy enemy structures, cover, and parts of buildings while the machine gun team is excellent at providing suppresive fire. The game uses a unique first person perspective, in which the camera is placed within the head of a third person model. It is the first Brothers In Arms game to feature a cover system, and to also feature full body awareness.

New Features
Cover System
Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway is the first Brothers In Arms game to feature a cover system. This allows the player to take cover behind walls and objects to make it harder for enemy fire to hit them. The player can fire from the cover by moving their weapon over or to the side of the cover; if the player's health is critical he can return back to cover and restore health. Many objects that are allowed to be used for cover can be broken (sandbags, wooden barrels, desks...etc) by the enemy and by the player as well. Enemies and fellow squad members can also take cover behind these objects meaning that the player and his squad will either have to suppress and flank the enemy or break his cover. The cover system is similar the system in Gears of War 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas.Action Camera
The action camera is small yet welcome new feature to the Brothers In Arms franchise. An action camera sequence occurs when the player gets a headshot or an explosive kill from a grenade or tank round. The camera zooms into the enemy or enemies that are killed with slow-mo enabled and shows them get their limbs torn off which an excessive amount of gore.Tactical Map
Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30 and Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood both featured a "Situational Awareness" system which would allow the player to quickly spot flanking positions. This system was replaced by a simple tactical map in Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway, this system is similar however it now contains historical recon reports and how many recon and kilroy positions you have collected. It also shows the postion of all German units nearby.Health System
The health system has been updated from the previous Brothers In Arms games so that you no longer have a health bar. It now contains a system similar to the one in the Call of Duty series. Whenever the player is damaged the screen will begin to turn red warning the player is health is low and needs to find cover otherwise he will be killed. Once in cover the player's health will start to recover so that they can quickly get back into action again.
Plot
You take control of Sergeant Matt Baker, a squad leader that, through months of combat, is starting to ask himself the question "How many lives is one officer worth?". After being deployed as part of Operation Market Garden, the largest Airborne operation ever executed, Baker commands his squad through Holland and is set with many tasks of securing bridges, roads, tanks and 88s with the hope of then being able to move into Germany. The game follows Matt Baker and the 101st airborne's assault on the city of Eindhoven as well as the many German counterattacks. Along the way Baker is reminded of the horror of war as he sees his fellow soldiers get injured and killed as well as seeing innocent civillians slayed by the Germans.Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway takes a strong look at Matt Baker's relationships with his squad and how he copes with their deaths. Baker often faces hallucinations which contain ghosts of his former soldiers who were killed under his control; we often see him talking to Pvt. Legget, the radioman killed in the attack of Normandy.
Many scenes in Hell's Highway focus around the "cursed" pistol which Baker is in possession of and has the words "For Matthew, Brothers in Arms" engraved on the side. It is a Colt. 45 given to Baker by his father, Col. Joe Baker, as he wanted his son to be safe if another war arised. In Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 Baker is seen giving the pistol to Sgt. George Risner before D-Day and is then later killed on D-Day 1. Both Pvt. Larry Allen and Pvt. Michael Garnett get hold on the pistol who are then also killed whilst with Pvt. Leggett. The rest of the squad blame Leggett for Allen and Garnett's deaths, on D-Day 7 Leggett is killed whilst firing at the Germans with the pistol at Hill 30. Baker's squad become suspicious of the pistol as they believe that anyone who holds it will be killed, scenes in Brother In Arms: Hell's Highway often people reminding and warning Baker of the "curse" on the pistol.
