Did Double Fine or EA not ship out any review copies? Nothing fuels my hype train more than reviews, or in some cases nothing grounds me more than an eye opening review. With less than a week until the release of this game (which I am getting anyways and just want a review to just have SOMETHING more of this game to look at) you would think there would have been 1 or 2 by now.

I'm sure some will be up soon, it's really strange though that I couldn't find one actual review of this game that was from a gaming site, but I'm still really excited for this game, I pre ordered it 2 days ago.
" Do you think Mr. Schafer is a little nervous about the reviews? "Probably more EA being worried. It's a new IP, and they probably want to be extra careful after last year.
Review embargoes are pretty standard. They can be really lax and early like Uncharted 2's or incredibly restrictive and late like Metal Gear Solid 4. Both games that are awesome. So, I wouldn't be too worried about things.

A few different podcasts have said Monday. So, I'd guess you'll find it sometime tomorrow. I'm really hoping this is good; I enjoyed the demo, and loved Psychonauts, and want Double Fine to keep making fun and engaging experiences. My guess? Gameplay will be fun, graphics will be fine, but the writing will be the big star, and that will make you have a blast playing this game.
The multiplayer demo on Gamespot actually looked fun. I was worried that it would be overly complicated and boring, but it looks pretty good. I thought that would be where review scores took a hit (which I wont know until Monday I guess) but I think it will be fiiiinnnnnnneeeee. Right? Hold me?
I've read only one review, from Play magazine, and the closing statement was:
"This is my favorite 3D game of all time"

Heard that some of the reviews will be up Wednesday, that seemed odd to me considering the game is out in the US on Tuesday. Went against preordering though, decided to go for Uncharted 2 and Forza 3. The game looks great but there's still a lot of unknowns and the big battle stuff doesn't really excite me.
Might eventually pick it up when the rush is over, to many games right now.
" I've always wondered if review 'embargoes' are contractual agreements, or if they are just a mutual understanding that if it's violated, the reviewer won't get copies in the future. "I'm sure I recalled Jeff saying they weren't exactly legally forced, though I believe companies can sue game sites if they break it or something. It's happened in the past, I believe it was GameSpot actually who did it, can't remember the game though. I think there more of an agreement between reviewers and game publishers, an agreement so game review sites can continue to review games earlier for gamers to help them decide if to purchase or not.
I might be wrong, but that's what I believe the agreements do.
A review is just a friendly agreement between a publisher and the reviewer. The publisher will keep giving the reviewer early access to games and events as long as they play by the rules. If they break it then they will be punished by limited to no access to games being made by that publisher. So, it's in a reviewers best interests to jump through the hoops.
First one'll probably be up by tomorrow night.
I'm expecting Gametrailers, IGN, or Gamespot will be the first to put 'em up.
