Stylish, ludicrous kills net big points in this ridiculously over-the-top first-person shooter.
WARNING: Game breaking bug. Unnaceptable.
Just want to come clean and say that I in no way think anything bad of the OP, I just thought it was a bit strange to call it "unacceptable" and "game breaking". Anyway, hopefully Morrowind will calm you down dude.
And I guess we'll see if more threads pop up with this issue. All in all; day one buyers these days usually run into this sort of stuff. I'm usually lucky! Even Fallout: NW was smooth as hell for me on 360, and I was playing from day one.
" @CrazyChris: If a game tosses out over an hour of my time, that's unnaceptable. Let me give you another example: If in Diable 2, you died just before killing the end boss, would you be happy the game tossed you back to the very first area of that Act? "Man, gamers are fuckin' soft these days.
If it happens to me when I get to that part I'll make sure to record it. Hell, I'll purposely die to test it.
So it's at the very end of Act 2? I'm about halway through it.
I had a bug where the AI companions both disappeared so when I got to a scripted event the game basically broke and I jest fell through the geometry forever. Was pretty fun.
Well I guess I can't get this game now. Any game has at least one bug in it not worthy of my money. If i here about a single bug in a game I will not play it.
I'm a QA Analyst and that's not "Game Breaking" or even a show stopper. It's an experience breaker for sure, but try to repeat it. Was it a 1 time thing?" It's funny how non-programmers classify bugs and glitches as different things. /smug "
" Are you guys seriously shrugging your shoulders at a bug that caused someone to lose an hour and-a-half of gameplay? What the fuck is wrong with you? "seeing as i know multiple people who have beat the game, one died around the same spot and have only heard 1 out of thousands of people ive seen talking about it complain about this yeah.. im shrugging
clearly it's an issue but i doubt it will happen again, if it was THAT bad the official BS forums would be flooded with it, call me when a real game breaking bug happens like delete your entire game save.
This is complete speculation, but... is there any chance that the game had trouble communicating with the HDD or something? (i.e. say the game attempted checkpointing throughout the level, but didn't actually successfully create a temporary save file, so dumped the OP back to the start of the level as there was no checkpoint data to retrieve.) Maybe a hardware glitch or some description is what i'm getting at.
Completely throwing it out there. Anyone able to debunk this or cross it off the list as a possible cause?
Just procrastinating and offering my two cents.

"man i would fucking love to play this french diable 2 thing you are talking about. Sounds awesome.
Also, that bug youre talking about? not gamebreaking, bubs....
hehehehe OH THE IRONY." Gotta love how some of you are focusing on my spelling of "Diablo" instead of the actual bug this topic is about. Stay classy Giantbomb users. Internet anonymity really does bring out the idiots. "
On a sidenote, why do you give BS so much shit for a minor glitch, while you go back to Morrowind, one of the most broken and bug ridden games?
Also i on Peter Damsvej 4, stay classy bubs.
I see your point OP. I too would be pissed off having lost an hour and a half of gameplay due to a glitch. While not gamebreaking, something that fucked shouldn't happen in a game that's been tested and certified before launch. I wouldn't just shrug it off either, I would be furious and whip my controller. Lol But then I would just jump right back on after raging and do it all over again and progress. haha.
I may have found a bug that really is game breaking. I'm at a point where Ishi breaks the door off of an overturned car and throws it aside and then he moves back to the same spot from which he removed the door making it impossible for me to get through the opening that he just made by breaking the door off. I've reloaded the checkpoint several times and now I'll have to reload the chapter. If that doesn't work I guess I'll go play something unless until the issue is fixed with an update.
I don't know how this would be considered a game breaking bug unless it was happening to a lot of people. This just sounds like you had a shitty glitch. Hell it could be a problem with the OP xbox or hdd
That isn't a game breaking bug, the one I encountered could possibly be one. Act 3 Chapter 2 on the dam, neither Ishi or the chick were with me, I figured they were just ahead of me. When the dam starts to collapse, I couldn't do anything and eventually the platform I was on collapsed. A few times I landed on another platform below and couldn't do anything but move around on it, so I restarted the checkpoint. The next couple times I did it I fell with the platform down to the water where I couldn't move. About a half minute later I would fall through the water and float in space. I could see the level up above, I was on another plane. I ended up having to restart the Act and play through it again. Only then did I realize that Ishi and the girl were supposed to be with me the entire time and I would be prompted to jump off the platform after the girl. This is what you call a game breaking bug! I don't give a shit though, I'm having too much fun with the game.
I'm having this exact same bug. This game is so fun to play yet so fucking badly QA tested. This is now a game breaking bug. I've restarted the game many many times and same results. The bridge collapses and there is nothing to be done, I just fall off into space.
Sometimes when I reset Ishi and the chick aren't even there with me.
PLEASE wait for a patch or something before buying this game. I cannot even advance now.
