I've made it to the part where Gray (main character) gets the 'Leash' and I find his voice acting to be actually quite good. Even the dialogue has some hilarious over-the-top lines so I don't understand why the dialogue and voice acting was criticized so harshly.

I mean, it's quite obvious that they weren't going for a serious story given how the main character becomes enemies with the villain so should the dialogue not be taken as simple hilarity?

I dunno... I really liked that entire game honestly. Bummed that People Can Fly got put on that fucking awful gears game instead of letting them do a proper sequel to Bulletstorm.

Dunno, Dialogue is incredible in this game especially from the General.

It gets to be a little much after a while (and I say that as a fan). Just a side effect of the game having to run with the joke for 7-8 hours.

I do love the VA, though. You can tell that the actors had a ton of fun, and I'd be shocked if half the lines weren't ad-libbed.

Why would anyone take this seriously and criticize it instead of just laughing at it?

This has been one of the most enjoyable games I played this generation. I don't remember the actual dialogue that well apart from that there might have been a bit too much swearing, but I do remember laughing quite hard at the ridiculousness of the story and dialogue. Combined with the amazing and colourfull environments, this game was fantastic. I would indeed love to see PCF develop another game with similar features, but I doubt they will be given a chance to do that anytime soon.

Not that I would disagree (because Bulletstorm is pretty awesome) but you get the leash like, 10 minutes after starting the game, right? Might want to play a bit longer before you say something like that.

Because people judged it solely by its overblown marketing campaign. The writing is fine - the plot is essentially a sci-fi pulp story with the characters hanging a ton of lampshades on everything. Great role by Steve Blum, too.
