Pretty crazy this being announced now, considering the bad press Activision has been having. I understand that this announcement could have occured because Activision could have used a good PR boost, but this kind of tarnishes the good thing that this is for Bungie. Like it or not, Activision Blizzard has the resources to take any property Bungie has and really take it places. They should have, however, waited until this whole thing with Infinity Ward has been settled.

Good news!  Bungie can be ruined for making the shitty Halo Generation of gamers and hopefully Blizzard keeps seeing all this crappiness and leave.
 
I hope Bungie goes downhill, no excueses for making the SAME GAME for the past 10 years.  They only thing Bungie is good at is HYPE.  
 
Activision needs to buy more and more studios, and destroy them to bits...and I pray by the end of 2013 that Blizzard balls up and bails the fuck out.

I'm actually pretty excited about the possibilities. Activision has a LOT of money to back up whatever game Bungie decides to make, which could possibility give it the financial backing of a first-party AAA title... except it's multiplatform. This is awesome news, as I don't own my 360 anymore, but I do enjoy Bungie as developers. I'm always interested in what they're up to.

I think the bigger question here is why would Microsoft pass up the new IP, they get first choice when comes to the new IP's Bungie makes. If Bungie do go multi-platform which i think is a given, how will their first PS3 game turn out I mean they haven't seen a Playstation since Oni.

I want to believe Activision will just be the publisher and not interfere, but that's just not like them.  Activision is about profits and has shashed and burned anything that's about games up to now.  You don't give the benefit of the doubt to a crazed tiger with a history of mauling people just because it's kinda like a kitty cat.

And it's Activision of all publishers? I wonder how much they paid for the Bungie team because it had to have been ginormous! The shock about this news for me is the Activision part but in all honesty a good move for Bungie! I've been waiting to see something else from the studio outside of Halo for along time now and the Microsoft prevented that. Ten years is not a lot of development  time and since Bungie equals quality that's about 2 to 3 games? Could they pull a trilogy? That said a fresh IP and the games being open to all platforms is aways a good thing! I just hope Activision does not Guitar Hero anything the Bungie guys do!

Yawn. I would probably care if Bungie ever made an above-average game.

  As a Halo fan, I'm kinda' pissed about this. My favorite thing about Bungie was just how in-touch they were with gamers, and how well they supported them. And with all the hate with Activision recently, I would think Bungie would stay far away from them since they know how much gamers hate Activision. And a 10-year fucking agreement? Are they fucking crazy? I thought they wanted to free themselves from Halo to do a bunch of different stuff, instead they do two Halo games, and a 10-year prison sentence to do work on this new IP.

And I wonder why the hell Microsoft turned away the title, Microsoft and Bungie always had a strong relationship.
