The fourth main Call of Duty game ditches the World War II setting of the past games to tell a story set in contemporary times, and backs it up with a breakthrough multiplayer mode.
@CL60: Tried it at my friends house yesterday, and we went on multiplayer, and thought "man, this shit will never load! Lets do something else!" so went out. 2 hours later its still loading the servers o.O
The xfire stats of numbers of people playing COD4 on PC are quite interesting (under todays top games), as there's over 6 million people who have played COD4 today (who also have xfire), where in comparison there's 1.8 million people that have played MW2. It's actually quite funny because there's still 3.8 million people playing COD2.
EDIT: oops not people but minutes - but point still stands

You can tell they fucked up with the PC version of MW2 when COD2 and MW1 destroy it in terms of people playing on PC.
Im sure there has and will be a drop in players due to the launch of reach but generally there are quite a lot of people playing on xbox live. Im sure there will be even more on the PC.
