Infinity Ward kept using it as marketing but now it's come true. Modern Warfare 2 sold 4.7 million copies worldwide on just day one accounting for $310 million of revenue. Compare that to the $220 million Transformers 2 made in it's opening weekend. Modern Warfare 2 shattered Grand Theft Auto IV's previous video game day one sales record of 3.7 million copies. And now analysts are predicting that the game will sell 12 million copies by year's end.
 
So, yeah, this game is kind of a big deal.
