Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Game » consists of 23 releases. Released Nov 05, 2007

The fourth main Call of Duty game ditches the World War II setting of the past games to tell a story set in contemporary times, and backs it up with a breakthrough multiplayer mode.

    Multiplayer Madness

Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the Xbox 360 is the first game which got me properly addicted. Every kill in the multiplayer in Team Death matches earns 10 points. As you gain more points, you go up levels, and as you go up more levels, you unlock more guns and perks. This process takes longer and longer as the points required to advance another level get larger the more levels you go up. For example it is possible to get from level 1 to level 2 in about 5 minutes, but it will take several games to get from level 54 to 55. Once you get to 55, you have the chance to enter prestige mode, where your level and everything you have unlocked is reset, and you have to start again. You do, however get a new icon which lets everyone know you have been around the block and pretty much are badass. There 10 levels of prestige. I got to level 6 before getting bored of the game, which is staggering considering it took about 12 days. (24x12 is something like 290 hours)

Sure, the single player is great too, but this game is well worth buying for multiplayer alone. :)

Call of Duty 4 is my first true step into the series and on the subject matter I'd say it's akin to stepping out onto the middle of a battlefield without going through boot camp first. So yes, I died a lot, it's pretty realistic and hard, but most importantly it's intense and immersive. The single player story is short, I'll ge...

They work part time jobs at your local supermarket and are usually in some form of debt in spite of their spending habits. In their free time, they enjoy multiple energy drinks, weed to ease the energy drink buzz, and UFC because there are fewer highs more sweet than a good ground and pound. And their hero? The soldier. The partially unk...
