More "OH SNAP!" moments than you can shake a nuclear arsenal at! 0

Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat, I mean, really, what else can be said? This is easily one of the best FPS games of last year, one of the best FPS games ever, and a new high water mark for the genre. COD4 takes a detour from the other games within the franchise by forgoing the WWII setting, and placing this game in the present day. A modern day Middle Eastern conflict that has international players including U.S. Marines, British SAS, and Middle Eastern (and Russian) terrorists. Modern conflicts,...

Great SP and MP, in this step to modern warfare! :) 0

As we all know british developer infinity ward managed to create something which was able to combat with EA's WWII title, Medal of Honour. For 3 games we have been travelling through the same old recycled battles of WII: D-Day, Moscow etc. And it became tediously dull and boring for most of us. That was until Call of Duty 4 came along.I.F. (Infinity Ward) released a BETA of the games MP to Xbox 360 to certain gamertags, however the BETA was leaked onto a massive scale and everyone began playing ...

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Review 0

Past Call of Duty games were set in World War 2 and often reacted the invasion of Normandy or the liberation of Europe. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare leaves the World War 2 era and blasts to modern times. Call of Duty 4 is a modern day first person shooter set in the middle east and Russia. Its currently the fourth installment of the Call of Duty series and lives up to the name brand. This game was in development for two years before its release date on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. ...

War has never been so fun! 0

Good: Great story mode, Amazing multiplayer. Over all great graphics Bad: Some textures are bad to look at up close. ----------------------------------- Call of Duty 4 is clearly the 4th main installment in the CoD games. This is the first one to go modern. What does this mean for the game? Well it opens up for new tools of war, and what feels like a full of fun package. The story in Call of Duty is simple yet very enjoyable. A rebel group in the middle east has ties with a Russian ultranatio...

One of the best games I have ever played! 0

I have played a lot of games in my time, this one grabbed me from the start and didnt let me go till the end. The story, the controls, the graphics are all top notch. This game got me so invested in the story I kept playing to see what would happen next. It is pretty short, but I will take quality over quantity anyday. I dont like first person shooters, but i played this game for the experience and was not disappointed. I played the multiplayer a little and it is excellent. The experience and le...

COD 4: Modern War conquers all 0

World War II has been a standard setting for FPS games for some time now. Call of Duty got started in the WWII setting while the sequel was the same. Both games managed to differentiate themselves from the crowd of still growing WWII games by including some of the most finely tuned gameplay in any shooter. Call of Duty 4 continues that tradition of excellent gameplay, and in this version, it has been tweaked and polished to perfection along with the new setting it all takes place in. It comes to...

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Xbox 360 Review 0

If there's one game you should own for either your Playstation 3, or your Xbox360, its this one. The graphics are better than anything seen on a console game, so much so, that at times I could of believed it was a film I watching, and not a game I was playing. The sound was, although not as impressive as the visuals, was still very impressive, with realistic gun shots, impressive background sound, all drawing you more and more into the game and story. Onto the story, while short, is very thrilli...

Time to answer the call 0

Call of Duty 4 is breaking new ground for the long running Infinity Ward series. This is the first time Call of Duty 4 has been brought into the modern realm. Infinity Ward’s portrayal on the modern world is refreshing; Even though many games take place in this setting, Call of Duty 4 still remains unique. The single player portion of the Call of Duty games has always been very directed and cinematic and this game stays true to that tradition. The campaign tracks two separate soldiers as they w...

SVEET 0

Call of Duty 4 is a game that deserves lots of praise for creating THE deepest online experience as well as a fun solo campaign. I've officially shelved Halo 3 as my "shooter of choice", and haven't been able to put down COD4 since I picked it up.The biggest accomplishment the game makes is in its online experience. Since the online game play makes it possible to unlock weapons, rankings, abilities, etc, the user can pop in COD4 and never have to play the offline campaign if he or she chooses. T...

CALL OF DUTY 4 IS AWESOME !!!!........and ADDICTING 0

Call of  duty 4 is my favorite online mutiplayer game .First the single player campaign it is really good infact its great but  a little short camparing to other games ,you play as different soldiers throughout the campaign. You have to fight against terrorist .The campaign take place in the middle east ,a ship and Europe, you are never doing the same thing for too long sometimes you'll be in the helicopter sometimes in a plane bombing down at people and my favorite mission of all is when you play...

COD the New cocaine . . . 0

Best FPS I have ever played. The elements from previous other popular Online FPS games make this one fun for new and old users. A variety of weapons lets decide how bad you wanna smack 'em and the point system is pretty easy to excel in. The only gripes with the actual game is that it is way to short, and could use less cinema. As for the online game, it could also require some fine tuning here and there, ( Im looking at you random 'nade, and no beneficial mute feature ) all of which im sure wil...

Still one of the most impressive shooters two years after release 0

If Crysis was the thinking-man's shooter and Bioshock was the story-driven shooter of 2007, Call of Duty 4 is the the most pure blow-the-crap-out-of-everything-and-hope-you-survive shooter of the year (and then some). This is a game that moves briskly, will push you and often drag you through incredibly intense combat that you really just need to navigate. It really pushes your reflexes more than any other shooter I've seen in recent memory. It's also a beautiful game, full with rich environments...

Doesn't revolutionize the genre but perfects it. 0

Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4 does not do anything revolutionary, or that much different than other first person shooters, but it has instead perfects the formula. In single player you play as both an SAS operative Soap MacTavish, U.S. Marine Paul Jackson, and Lieutenant Price. The plot is delivered well through mission briefings, and a first person perspective. This with the plot twists make for a very enjoyable experience. The game’s missions aren’t only shooting your way to your objective. T...

How Well Do They Transition To Modern Day? Pretty Damn Well! 0

Tired of seeing the same old places and same old things from the beaches of Normandy circa 1942? Well Infinity Ward is right there with you. Feeling that their popular World War II franchise is turning a bit stale, they thought they might take a new approach to that oh so tired out series. Ripped straight from the day's headlines, Call of Duty 4: Modern warfare puts you right in the thick of battle as it is today, not as it was 60 some odd years ago. It is arguably the best representation of a m...

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare Review 0

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the 4th instalment in the massively popular Call of Duty Series from Infinity Ward, the game takes place unlike the previous 3 in modern day which takes a drastic change from the WW2 era. Modern Warfare has you play through the single player campaign from 2 different perspectives, for the majority of the campaign you play as Sergeant "Soap" MacTavish from the 22nd SAS Regiment and for a segment of the game you take on the roll of Sergeant Paul Jackson who is par...

Addicting I Played For HOURS! 0

The backbone to COD4 is its muliplayer, the game has crack in it I could seriously go for six hours non stop. Multiplayer is so well thought out, the class system is what makes you keep going because you have to play to progress. Unlike in some games you have money and at your tenth time playing you have the best gun. It does not work that way this is a very strategic battlefield you have to watch every corner look through every window you never who's camping. Camping this is the cheapest and m...

Call Of Duty 4 has a blend of great action and thrills. 0

The first three COD's are all very good games, developed by Treyarch, who made three great and realistic World War 2 games. But none of these compare to Infinity Ward's COD4, they decided to take a extreme risk by making the fourth COD set in modern times and it has paid off. The campaign follows a British Spec Ops Team and the US Forces in their fight against the Russians and the Middle East. It excites you from start to finish but as every one is saying, it is short. The campaign will last ab...

COD4 is a great game, although it is in no way perfect 0

For a while now, the Call of Duty series has just been based on WW2.  The previous games in the series were great, all recreating famous battles from World War Two. The series also had its trademark iron sights, which was the key to aiming successfully and killing your enemies on the battlefield. But, as somebody pointed out, people have been making games about WW2 for longer than the war actually lasted. Infinity Ward obviously realised this, and decided to give the series a much need overhaul...

Most entertaining FPS on 360 0

The title maintains the most longevity of any FPS currently available.  The multiplayer alone makes it worth owning and playing over and over again.  A deep class and reward system make for near endless opportunity to earn more kudos in the game.  And even when not trying to achieve something the gameplay is so solid and smooth that it makes putting any other FPS into the console seem laggy and unpolished....

We are goinh hard and We are going deep 0

Frankly, I was simply nailed by this game. this one is one instant classic which is great blasting fun with an immersive story. The game makes you believe that you are really in war with lot of enemies and different types of attacks. When your team goes for ambushing enemies, they wont kill all of them and they wont die either. You didnt feel that you are the one who is killing all of the enemies, COD4 strikes perfect balance between AI and fun. Sure this is one hell of blasting fun even if it ...

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare--Review 0

Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare is the 4th true installment of the great COD franchise.  This time around, Infinity Ward takes a more modern route instead of the usual WWII story.Single PlayerCall of Duty 2 is well known as one of the best fps single player experiences of all time. I totally agree with that. For the most part, COD4 delivers on all of that. But it still lacks a few things that made COD2 such a special game. First of all, when playing COD2, throughout the entire game there was a con...

This game is the prototype of the "next-gen" FPS. 0

Let's cut right to the chase, the reason why you should buy this game is it's muliplayer.  It's just fantastic and succesfully combines FPS with RPG elements, which makes you come back to the game over and over again. For those who don't like or play multiplayer, this game is a rental. It's single player is short, but really, really good, with a strong story and fast-paced shooting action. Like is said in the title this game is what a next-gen FPS experience can and should be, totally AWESOME!Jon...

COD4 is a "must" for all FPS fans out there. 0

Just as the FPS genre was slowly grinding to a halt and many of the major video game franchises scored mediocre ratings COD4 popped-up. COD3 was a decent game that was, just as its predecessor, was set in the WWII era. It scored mediocre ratings in the media and forced Infinity Wards to rethink their strategy. The outcome of this change in strategy is COD4. The game is nearly perfect; and there is little to be said about the flaws. If there is anything that needs to be pointed out then it is tha...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 0

Let me start off by saying that this is probably one of the best games i have ever played. 1. Single Player. The single player is not very long which is a shame, but the missions they have are the best of the series. You start off as a new character named soap. You basically go through the missions like any other game in the series, but one thing has changed. Since this title is called Modern Warfare, we use modern weapons! Unlike the other WWII based games this one is more realistic and is a ...

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 0

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the first installment of Activision's series to be set in the modern era. It combines a short but fast paced campaign that never keeps you waiting with online multi-player that is nearly perfect. In the campaign you play as either a soldier in the British S.A.S. fighting to stop Russian Ultranationalists from taking over the country or as a US marine fighting in the middle east to stop an extremist from rising to power. It is on the short side, (It took me a bou...

Rusty's Call of Duty 4 Review 0

The First Person Shooter genre of games has always been my favorite. Nothing can satisfy you more then running into a room filled with bad dudes, the odds stacked against you, and yet gunning them all down, and standing victorious. Well, maybe sex. The Call of Duty series has always captured that feeling of being a bad ass dude the most. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is no exception, standing out as my favorite FPS of all time, and my favorite game of 2007.Modern Warfare's single player, while s...

You'll never walk alone. 0

I can say easily that this is the best fps that I've ever played. The game has an amazing mix of action, humor, suspense, and the best of all, an awesome story. The environment and the things that happen around you truly amaze you at times and take you by surprise. There is no end to shocks till the end that will constantly leave you awed. There is such a variety in the game that you'll never feel like quitting it. The variety in this game is shown by the different kinds of mission which are...

The Fourth Look at Warfare 0

Synopsis: Despite it's short but sweet single-player campaign, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a stellar first person shooter, which has a magnificent multi-player component which more than makes up for with the rest of it's content.IntroductionInfinity Ward finally worked out that it's time to move away from the World War II setting, with Call of Duty 1 and 2, and move onto something a little different, with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Short but sweet single player, and a highly addictive multiplayer 0

The single player mode of this game is short, but oh is it sweet. several seriously immersive and intense moments (in particular the sniper level) make it memorable. The multiplayer is where its really at though. I've got nearly 10 days clocked in online with this game. Its super addictive but not for some mindless dumb reason, its really just so much fun. Theres lots of depth, strategy, and skill involved in this game. Theres great weapons, great maps, great graphics, great ranking system, grea...

Duty Calls 0

I haven't played any of the first Call of Duties so please don't call me out on this one, but I would say this is a great game. I didn't like it until I saw my brother playing it and making a set. Where to start? Of course, 1 player.Campaign You start out in campaign mode at a military camp. After running a few drills, you are then put to your first mission. As you venture through, you'll feel the game engine at work, making the screen tilt at times. But like all things, the story will die. And ...

Singleplayer vs. Multiplayer 0

SIngle PlayerThe story was exciting and addicting which led me to push myself to fight through each level to find out what happens next.  On the other hand, many of the levels were created to just throw mass numbers of enemies at you which to some is exciting and to others a nightmare.  My biggest problem with the single player experience is the only way get through a level is to run through the level to the next checkpoint running and gunning as much as you can, so gamers who enjoy the rainbow ...

This game is so good, i still play it over my new games! 0

Enter Soap MacTavish and Phil Jackson, part of the S.A.S. and the U.S. marines. They are on a series of missions to uphold Russia's backlash created by the ultimatist leaders. The game basically revolves around that aspect. You have to do a series of missions where you have to progress further to find these leaders or you have to actually kill them. There are four difficulties in this game, recruit, regular, hardened and veteran. Recruit is for beginners, regular is one step higher. The differen...

Call of Duty is one of the best games available on the 360. 0

Infinity Ward has finished with the World War II era and has finally embraced a modern twist. The game brings the superb gameplay of past Call of Duty games and throws in a crazy blend of more technologically advanced weaponry and a new refined story to match-- and it works extremely well. Call of Duty 4 has one of the most interesting singe-player campaigns in a FPS. The single-player will put you in the shoes of a British S.A.S soldier and a American Marine, each with their own story where sh...

Simply Amazing!! 0

Call of Duty 4 is simply one of the best first person shooters ever made. The graphics are amazing and the story is very compelleing, although the campaign could have been a little longer. The real strength of this game is the online multiplayer. What sets Call of Duty 4 apart from other online multiplayer shooters is the points sytem. The instant gratification of seeing points scored every time you get a kill is what makes this game completely addictive. The multiplayer portion of the game also...

Just amazing 0

I started playing the call of duty series with finest hour. This game had a great single player, but the multi player was somewhat lacking as constant camping toned down the action. Slowly the call of duty series has kept delivering what it started by only tweaking small things in its game. This time around call of duty is perhaps one of the best shooters out. This game can stand its own against the likes of Rainbow 6 and Halo 3. The campaign is jam packed with moments where your jaw will drop a...

Experience the new age of war with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 0

Perhaps it doesn't revolutionize the way first-person shooters are supposed to be played, but nonetheless Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is perhaps the best representation of what modern-day shooters are supposed to be; "Point and Shoot" is the name of the game, but with tight controls, outstanding visuals, a frame-rate that hardly breaks no matter how much chaos is going on screen, a gripping and intuitive story-line, this shooter certainly stands out. I personally haven't played the online mod...

Everything new is old again... 0

The Call of Duty series has been both at the top of the FPS pile, as well as near the bottom. Several console iterations of the popular WWII shooter have been sub-par to say the least, but console owners finally got a true port of the fantastic Call of Duty 2 back in 2005. The Infinity Ward developed game was then succeeded in 2006 by the dismal Call of Duty 3, this time developed by Treyarch. The poor quality of the game coupled with the saturation of WWII based games on the market was spelling...

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Stomps the competition 0

Call of Duty 4 was 2007s best game. Everything about the game made it the complete package. A solid (although short) Single player. A super deep and addiciting Multiplayer as well as being one the best First Person Shooters to ever be developed. COD4 has more than top notch production values, it has personality! It rocks hard as hell and here's why:Story: An Terror leader known as Al Asad has taken nuclear weapons and killed the president of Saudi Arabia. The country is now engulfed in War and t...

One of the 1st FPS that defines next-gen consoles capabilities. 0

One of the best FPS I've played in years. It has a great storyline with great graphics that are a sight to see. The storyline may be short but has more to offer online with it's customizable weapons and perks. The storyline consists of playing a variety of  mission that leave you on the edge of your seat along with breath-taking cutscenes. Once you finish the game you can go back and play it again and look for intel that enable you to unlock cheats such as infinite ammo depending on how many yo...

Call of Duty 4 0

Call Of Duty 4 is one of those video game sequels with a lot of respect for its heritage; so much so, in fact, that it decides to do exactly what the other games in the franchise did and just stick a slightly higher number at the end of the title. That doesn't necessarily make it a bad game, but it doesn't help. Now, before everyone gets all pissed off let me say: I like this game, I like the multi player, hell I like the whole goddamn franchise (except for "Big Red One")! I also like innovati...

Call of Duty 4 is one of the best games I've played this year. I've been a Call of Duty player since the first one was released on the PC. This installment is by far the best one I've played. Both the campaign and Multiplayer are superb. The campaign is very, very short. It only took me about 5 hours to beat the game on the first day I got it. Although the campaign is short, it's so much fun I just couldn't put it down. You'll find yourself playing for hours on end because you just won't get b...

Excellant Game 0

The talented developers out of Encino , Infinity Ward are back with a bang and this bang comes in the form of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Finally the developers took this fantastic series out of the 1940’s and killing Nazis with the M1 Garand and shooting its way into the 21 century fighting global terror with an Mp5. But trust me there is a lot more to the new Call of Duty other than just the new time period. The single player is great, and amazing multiplayer options and stunning visuals m...
