Call of Duty: Black Ops Is Out This November
A teaser trailer for the game will air on SpikeTV's GameTrailers TV tonight, so check your local listings for that. The brief bit of text posted on the game's official site also points people to the official Twitter account for Treyarch, as well as the developer's community dude, Josh Olin, for further updates.
So, since we're all in the dark about this one so far, let's open it up. What do you think the Black Ops zombies will be like? I mean, if it's not WWII, they can't exactly have Nazi Zombies, right? So... Islamic Extremist Zombies? Vietcong Zombies (otherwise known as Vietcombies)? Militia Overthrowing The US Government By Force Zombies?

I'm interested. People shit on Treyarch a little too often just because they, unfortunately, have had to play second fiddle to Infinity Ward and Activision for so long now that we've not had a chance to see them do anything other than COD in some time. Still World at War wasn't a bad product, I'm interested in what they have to offer with Black Ops.
Vietnam, Cold War & "Modern Warfare" settings have all been flying around the rumour mill. The popular rumour is that it takes place across multiple different wars. Whether or not the rumours are true, only time will tell." I've been hearing that it will take place during the Cold War. "
Either way, it sounds decent. No matter how much people criticize Treyarch - they make a solid game. Sure, their CoD's are not as good as IW's, but they're still good quality products, they're just constantly in the shadow of an amazing product.
Why are people saying it looks cool and nice? Nobody has seen anything about it yet; no screenshots no videos. Lets see a Call of Duty game not in WWII and assuming not what MW2 took place. can we say America doesnt even need to be apart of it, but if theres anything left that Call of Duty hasnt looked at that was huge then its Civil War, but i dont think the Call of Duty franchise should take that direction.
I am looking forward to a cinematic single-player/co-op campaign in 'Nam. That would be fun. BF Vietnam was a lot of fun, it got the atmosphere right.
Kill a Vietcombie for mommie! Looks like I might be getting another COD game despite my protests to myself. If only it was set in the modern day, then I wouldn't buy it. But the whole Cold War setting, and Vietnam make me want to play this game, because I LIKE Treyarch's COD entries, World at War had a violence and a brutality that made it seem like war. MW2 on the other hand, made me feel like I was constantly killing mannequins, even in the airport level.
I'll wait for whatever Respawn Entertainment cooks up instead.

But yeah, they get a lot more flak than they deserve.

They also did the AMAZING Spiderman movie games. Seriously, has everyone forgotten about how great Spiderman 2 was?
I honestly enjoyed WaW more than MW .
From 2 to 4 I felt IW went downhill.
From 3 to 5 I felt Treyarch improved.
I have no reason to believe they won't improve even further with Black Ops.
Any footage out yet? I don´t know about you guys but I don´t want to judge a book/game by its cover/logo." Yeah, looks nice.
Games involving Black Ops always end up with the Vice President concocting some secret plot to take power, and in the end you assassinate him. If Infinity Ward were developing Call of Duty these days, I'd expect it to involve some really shredding guitars to play as the player character fires a bullet in slow motion directly into the Vice President's head. Also the VP is making a joke about cracking down on Marijuana or something as the player sneaks up on him.
Remember, no politics.
Doesn't have the same ring to it!? It's my birthday duder! Halo2 came out on that day, and Gears2 was just a couple of days after! It's consistently been an awesome day to be a gamer, and be a me!
Also, they seem to be continuing to stray from what seperated CoD from everything else in the first place. CoD was mostly about you being one guy amongst many on a battlefield. This title makes it sound like we're going full circle back to the Rainbow Six / Ghost Recon days, when everything was about the elite squad taking on an entire army.
I was hoping for CoD Vietnam, but as long as we get some sweet MACV-SOG / 'Spectres Over Laos' action going on it could be cool.
" @fillmoejoe: Tunnel Rats weren't Black Ops... Just specialized soldiers. "I'm just saying tunnel rats because of the Vietnam rumors. There could be a scenario in the game if it is Vietnam.
Maybe it will time jump like Bad Company 2 you go from 50's Cold War, Vietnam then to Modern Warfare, I guess we will find out tonight." @yinstarrunner said:
