I knew it. I believe they launched at the same time as the 360/PS3/PC versions. Treyarch did the same with Call of Duty 3, World at War and now Black Ops. Call of Duty 4 didnt get a Wii counterpart but I think it did get a DS version (though I dont know when), Modern Warfare 2 got a DS version at around the same but it was partnered with a Treyarch port of Cod4 to the Wii.

I didn't know that but I should have, that's what they do for every COD game.

I wonder how you would do a CoD game on the DS.

The Wii game is interesting because it allows classic controller, a headset that's specially made for the game, and online multiplayer without friend codes.

I'm sort of interested to see these Wii versions. I hope GB does a quick look some time.

FPS's on a DS are awkward as hell.  I tried Brother's in Arms soon after I got one and it was not an experience I tried to repeat again.

Actually, the Wii did see COD 4, it was released alongside MW2. It was called Modern Warfare Reflex.

As for the OP's question, yeah I was aware of the DS and Wii versions of the game. If you get the DS version, I'd like to know how it plays.

My brother-in-law got the Wii version of Black Ops for Christmas. I haven't seen it to compare to the other consoles, but he seems to enjoy it.

I've played Modern Warfare on the DS and fuck... You hold the DS with your left hand and strafe with the d-pad, you point with your stylus and shoot with the L button. It's disgusting, but children don't know better (no matter the rating, you know teenagers or adults are not touching this, it's children who are gonna play it).

Yeah. Pretty much common knowledge. It's just that no one talked about it because most people who talk about games on the internet have a PS3/360/gaming PC, and thus wouldn't buy the Wii version.

I actually just ordered Black Ops for Wii because I don't have XBL and I can't run the PC version. Was thinking about making a Giant Bomb clan once I got in, don't know how that would go.

I tried Modern Warfare 2 on the DS and could not get past the first level. The controls seemed overly complicated and clunky so I gave up on it. I suppose if one were to get really good with those controls it could be a fun game.

Yes i did know that, saw it at my store. Can't imagine playing CoD on DS or any shooter on Wii whatsoever.
