does anyone think that MW3 will improve the COD experience overall?...or will it still retain the problems that the series is known for and possibly create new ones

will MW3 be a better experience? or more of the same
My prediction: Mostly new level geometry (but mod'ed from pre-gen'ed templates), new level scripts, some new textures, new voice work, new writing. Re-use of most of the sounds, character models and animations, level props (stuff lying around), 100% game code re-use. Change some menus up and some edit-able parameters in the game engine - damage mods, speeds, etc.
Pretty much a full expansion pack as in the classic PC days but at $60 instead of $30-$40.

After watching the e3 demos, mw3 is just a level pack for mw2. There is absolutely nothing new besides that scope switching thing, which is minor as hell.
Thats really the only change they've mentioned. The horde mode thing is new I guess. But Black Ops had zombies which is basically horde mode.
i personally think its their attempt at an enchanced rehash of MW2 im not saying it doesnt have new featured but it looks like i've played it before

The second half of MW3 is a bejeweled clone. That's the big reveal.
I'd buy that.
It'll likely be exactly the same. I'm hoping they'll either give the series a break following MW3 or at least go for something completely different, but I know business and money will likely see to it that it doesn't...
Worst because it's not entirely the infinityward team. It's going to flop even more than treyarch games, or might get closer to their score on gamerankings.

you GENIUS
@faunt: What a great insightful scoop into the offices at IW.
As for the question, are the two mutually exclusive?
According to that 10 minute E3 demo, it looks like more of the same... which is good. I like Call of Duty. If I want to play something "different," then I'll pop the Battlefield 3 disk into my console.
its going to be alot of the same just like the last one was. a big bowl of bland. it will still sell just as good as the last one.
not saying that im not gonna buy it, the single reason is the "co-op" since that was so fucking great in the last one and thats the only thing exiting about it
i don't see how " more of the same " can't be viewed as good, since thats what most people want - more CoD
I predict that it will be moderately better than Modern Warfare 2. It's a competent shooter, but it's still the same old COD game we've been playing for years. Well, at least it's not bad as Modern Warfare 2. But you know what's the sad part, almost every high profile gaming website will still flourish it with gushing praise and it will still be nominated for multiple GOTY awards.
