An age-old, widely-hated strategy in multiplayer games: stay in one spot and kill passers-by. Also refers to a more benign activity in MMOs.
Games in which the player is incapable - not just discouraged from - harming innocents. Sorry, no matter how bad you want to, you just can't pull that trigger.
Some game characters just cannot swim. This usually means automatic death as soon as they hit the water.
A game in which the object is for each team to retrieve the opponent's flag and return it to their own base. Typically used in multiplayer first-person shooter games.
Games that feature car accidents as important story points or dramatic events. This concept does not refer to car accidents that can occur as an incidental result of gameplay, such as in racing games.

Chemical weapons are weapons who use chemical products to obtain various detrimental effects.
A chicken is a small, domesticated flightless bird that can be white, yellow, brown or black. A female is a hen, a male a rooster, and a baby a chick.
A concept used in many racing and action games in which your vehicle or character is airborne and shot at an awesome angle, often in slow-mo.
Circle-strafing is strafing around a target while facing it. This is useful for disorienting the target's aim, making for an easier kill.
A clan tag is a special ID found in multiplayer games where a player can put in a prefix to their online name that identifies themselves as part of a clan.
A cliffhanger is a type of ending where the fate of the characters, the world, or everything in the world is left unresolved. In most cases, they are revealed in sequels.
Climbing is a common tradition in games, particularly platformers. There is often a particular type of surface that can be climbed, and it has a recognizably different look than other surfaces in the game. Climbing ladders or stairs doesn't count.
CQC and CQB are close range combat techniques.
Game mechanic that allows a player to respawn as long as at least one teammate is alive.
The Cold War is the period of tension between the USA and the Soviet Union that dominated world politics from the mid 1940s all the way until the early 1990s.
Collectibles are items such as coins, rings, gems, packages etc. that can be gathered, usually for some kind of reward, or sometimes to simply beat a level. Often (almost too often) the source of earning achievements and trophies on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Limited editions of games that include extra "perks" like Making of DVDs and a nice and shiny tin with extra box art
Some games have an option that makes it easier for color blind players to play.
The ability to change the color of a character's clothing/armor or even a vehicle's paint with or without the use of an in-game item to do so.
Communism is an economic and political ideology which (at least in theory), seeks to eventually achieve a classless society that promotes equality in gender, racial, and/or social terms. Despite this, most Communist regimes are often dictatorial rather than utopian.
These games have an official mobile app that integrates or communicates with a main game.
A group of platoons, typically four, which are each in turn a group of squads.
A bar, usually at the bottom of the screen, which tells you what direction enemies, locations, or main quests are.
Games where you cooperate with other players to accomplish certain goals, yet at the same time compete for power (items) and glory (wealth).
Games that numerically track the player's progress towards completion of a specific goal, single level, or the entire game.
