I own only COD4 and CODMW2. MW2 really turned me off on the franchise. The story was stupid in the second one and the multiplayer catered way too much to people who only play COD.

I have never bought/played a COD game. What do I win?

world at war. i played some mw2, and realized, "this is more mw" and decided to pass on it.

MW2 was the last one I bought -- and will remain the last one. It's the game that made me realize that I don't really care to play FPSs anymore, and I'm especially uninterested in the sort of multiplayer COD offers. It's still great if you want that sort of thing, I just don't.

Black Ops and I had bought COD4 and MW2 before that. MW2 was a pretty good game that everyone is acted very jaded against. None of the storylines were very good in these games. To come out and suddenly say "Well MW2 is where I draw the line!" is kind of absurd. It was a bombastic, thrill ride with houses exploding left and right which isn't a bad thing in my opinion.

Black Ops had a really good campaign and the numbers stuff added to the intrigue even if you could tell from the beginning what the big twist was going to be. There is a mission where it's basically a turret sequence but a Rolling Stones song comes on and it feels great.

@mikey87144: concerning your comment about the multiplayer - who should the online multiplayer of a Call of Duty game cater to if not COD players? I certainly don't go into a COD game expecting Halo multiplayer and vice versa.

Modern Warfare 2, because I had a 75% off coupon from Steam. The only other one I own is CoD4, and that's only because it came free with my video card.

Call of Duty 2. Also the first game on current consoles that I S-Ranked.

#10 Posted by Baillie (4025 posts) -

Modern Warfare 3. I've bought them all. OH LOOK I'M SUCH AN ASSHOLE.

#11 Posted by Marz (5642 posts) -

last one i bought was black ops.

#12 Posted by FrankieSpankie (228 posts) -

Call of Duty 2 -- Don't know why they didn't make CoD 3 on PC or that probably would have been the last one I bought. I'm glad my PC couldn't handle CoD 4 because after watching it more and more and finally playing it on console, I thought the franchise was over.

#13 Posted by Dagbiker (6939 posts) -

Cod4 I did buy medal of honor though. The first new one. Because I wanted to play with my brother in the military.

#14 Posted by Jack268 (3387 posts) -

Black Ops. I wasn't gonna buy it but there's that one asshole I know that can get you hyped on any game that made me buy it. Fuck.

#15 Posted by Rafaelfc (1311 posts) -

MW3 and I enjoyed it for what it was.. SUE ME!!!!

#16 Posted by Nentisys (885 posts) -

COD4. 0 interest in the series after that.

#17 Posted by mikey87144 (1649 posts) -

@Humanity: I'm not talking about catering to the fans. I played the shit out of COD4 and was excited to check out the second MW. I was talking about catering to the person who only buys COD and who only plays COD. All the power ups felt too beneficial to that guy, (or gal).

MW2. I enjoyed it for a few weeks but there was always something broken and being exploited (although, the javilen trick that turned you into a walking bomb was pretty hilarious for a while). I haven't been interested in picking up another CoD since.

COD4.

#21 Posted by Labman (287 posts) -

MW3...and I'm not ashamed!

#22 Posted by Chontamenti (153 posts) -

I liked CoD4:MW on the PC and was very hyped when MW2 came along. But it never satisfied me like CoD4 did.

I bought every CoD except War at War, but I won't buy BLOPS2. I'm done with FPS'.

..wonder what the QL to BLOPS2 will be about.. in the BLOPS1 QL Jeff analogously said: "They won't get away with making this same game over and over again" ... huh. ^^

#23 Posted by believer258 (11570 posts) -

Modern warfare 3. I really didn't like that one. It wasn't necessarily bad, just very uninteresting. I'm going to get to play BLOPS 2, though, because good old @living4theday258 preordered it. And, frankly, I wanted to try it as well.

#24 Posted by Dimsey (946 posts) -

Black Ops.

Though I still played MW3 because my brother bought it.

I will probably get Black Ops 2 at some point, but there are so much more interesting games coming soon that it can wait.

#25 Posted by Ursus_Veritas (383 posts) -

MW3, which I initially liked, but soured on over time, especially as the DLC stuff got so weird thanks to portioning it off for Elite and whatnot, some maps out this day for X group, this day for Y group, then this 1 map is out at another time for everybody... I didn't really come back to it to try that stuff out because I had no real idea when it was actually dropping.

Picking up Blops II tomorrow, and rather excited for it. Strangely I don't really consider myself a CoD fan, but I've actually bought all of them since World at War! In the future though I think I'm just going to go for the Treyarch-made ones. I've been consistently impressed with the stuff Treyarch have done with Call of Duty from WaW onwards, and increasingly frustrated with IW's arrogance and refusal to acknowledge Treyarch's inputs, just because they're (or 'were', now, as they're a shadow of their former selves) the 'main' developer.

COD4. Turns out i wasnt a fan of this type of multiplayer.

#27 Posted by TooWalrus (13132 posts) -

CoD:Blops, though I am stupidly interested in seeing where that ridiculous story from MW2 picks up in MW3...

#28 Edited by AndrewB (7453 posts) -

That COD4 game was pretty amazing. Before that, I definitely played the hell out of Call of Duty 2. Man, I remember when that game looked fantastic.

#29 Posted by Nightriff (4866 posts) -

MW2 is the last one I bought day one. But I eventually get them all because I do enjoy the short campaigns for their lunacy, still waiting on BLOPS to drop in price a bit.

#30 Posted by Marcsman (3094 posts) -

COD:WAW. I'm back for Black OPS 2 though.

#31 Posted by killacam (1284 posts) -

World at War, only one I've owned. I really liked it actually.

#32 Posted by Oscar__Explosion (2181 posts) -

Been getting call of duty yearly since Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2. I really enjoyed the multiplayer in black ops though.

BOOM ZING ZANG KAPOW

As for me, the last game I bought new was Call of Duty World At War. I bought Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 from a friend for 5$ and lastly, got a used copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops for Christmas (I requested used).

#35 Posted by HistoryInRust (6269 posts) -

I've snagged used copies of Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3. I guess that means Modern Warfare 2 was the last one I officially purchased.

#36 Posted by StingerMK2 (386 posts) -

i haven't brought a single one, my housemate does though, so i'v played CoD4 (fantastic) and MW2 (less so) and i also borrowed CoD3 off of a workmate (shite)

#37 Posted by NicksCorner (410 posts) -

While drunk I bought Black Ops off STEAM late one night.

Didn't like it at all. I had to pick up the game at three separate attempts just to see the single player campaign through.

Think I've only been online once or twice.

I'm so sad I caved to the hype and bought at full price.

CoD 2

#39 Posted by mosespippy (3984 posts) -

I've never bought one. The last one I played was CoD2 for flip phones or possibly CoD2 on PC. I played those at around the same time on my friends machines. My PC couldn't handle CoD2 so I couldn't get it.

Modern Warfare 3. I'm a huge MW fan, but I was never as much into Black Ops. Black Ops 2 will be the first COD game in a while that I won't be buying at launch. I might even skip it entirely.

#43 Posted by Hadoken101 (699 posts) -

MW2 was the last one I bought. It didn't strike a chord with me and my friends as much as CoD4 did.

#44 Posted by Colourful_Hippie (4328 posts) -

Modern Warfare 2 and people need to stop remaking these same threads.

#45 Posted by Donkeycow (556 posts) -

BLOPS for me, though i became somewhat jaded about the series at MW:2 i convinced myself BLOPS would make everything better... and it was a little bit better, so I might pick up BLOPS 2 just for the thrill of that first week of multiplayer madness.

#46 Posted by commonoutlier (136 posts) -

Heeeeh, uuuhh, that would be Modern Warfare 3—don't worry, I've learned my lesson. I mean, I found the plots of the MW games to be hilariously ridiculous, and I really did love World at War (the Russian campaign), and actually enjoyed some of the characters in the recent games...but I do not find the games worth their price. So if I get any more games, it'll be some of the earlier ones (the original Modern Warfare, COD4, being the "oldest" of the COD games I've played), else I'll wait until the most recent ones are dirt cheap (which will be years from now, and by then I will have lost interest, I hope).

#47 Posted by Nev (539 posts) -

The last I bought was Modern Warfare 2 a year or so after it released.

#48 Posted by Scrawnto (2433 posts) -

I think it was MW2. I came to it way after it came out, because it took forever for it to drop in price (I was not going to pay $60 for that game), so I was way underleveled compared to everyone else, and the lack of a server browser actually did bum me out. I was done with it after that. I will probably get BlOps 2, though. The changes to the class building sound interesting, and I like that it's not the same damn weapons of the last few games.

#49 Edited by Bourbon_Warrior (4523 posts) -

Black Ops and fucking loved it, best MP and matchmaking out of all the games hated MW2 system of killstreaks can get you more killstreaks. But didnt touch MW3 at all so might pick up Black Ops 2 if it reviews well.

I remember joining a room a couple of week after launch and there was no reloading on weapons, so you could hold down a grenade launcher like a SMG, I ended up getting the AC130 on this map and painted the map with the biggest shell like a machine gun....So good.

My brother got MW2 with his PS3 (presumably because the store persuaded my mum that it was every teenager's wet dream).

We briefly played the multiplayer, touched Spec Ops and decided COD wasn't for us.
