Cao Cao is the leader of the Wei nation, the implicit villain side in the Dynasty Warriors and Romance of the 3 Kingdoms series of videogames. He is a historical figure based on the romanticized depiction in the ROTK novels.

Cao Cao is one of central characters during Three Kingdoms period in Chinese history. His villainous depiction in Romance of Three Kingdoms (san guo yan yi) is the basis for his appearance in media, including Koei games. In Dynasty Warriors series he is a ruthless warlord believing in his Mandate of Heaven to conquer and rule all of China.

In most of the Dynasty games he uses sword.
