Basketball Career

Carmelo Anthony played 3 of his 4 years of high school basketball at Towson Catholic then transferred to Oak Hill Academy for his senior year. He was named to the McDonald's All-American Team and committed to play college basketball at Syracuse University. Anthony only played one year at Syracuse, but he led them to the NCAA tournament title. Afterwards, he declared for the 2003 NBA Draft where he was selected 3rd overall by the Denver Nuggets. Anthony has become one of the elite players in the NBA, he has averaged just under 25 points per game for his career and has been named an NBA All-Star 4 times. During the 2010-2011 season Anthony was traded to the New York Knicks in a multi-team deal that also involved the Minnesota Timberwolves who helped New York clear cap space in order to acquire Anthony.
