Why does Alucard look so foofy?

From what I understand, Castlevania has always been anime-inspired in Japan, while in America, a different artist would give it a gothic tinge. But in Judgment, he looks like a generic anime douche, while the Alucard character model from Symphony of the Night would have been badass. Why didn't they give hin the gothic tinge?

Also, why is Simon in bondage?

You're mistaken.  The Castlevania series has had a number of different artists over the years.  The character designs in Castlevania:  Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin were drawn in an anime style, while other games like Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow had character designs by Ayami Kojima.

The rendition of Alucard in Judgment was created by Takeshi Obata, a popular manga artist, as are the rest of the characters in the game.  They're stylistic interpretations of the artist, and so characters like Alucard and Maria simply don't look the same as they did in their original games.

And let's face it.  Alucard always did look a bit feminine.

Takeshi Obata is the one who made the Death Note series. Maria's appearance is Judgement is based upon one of the lead characters in Death Note, Misa Amane. It is sort of a cameo from the artist his side.

Some of them are interpretations, but some are not. There is no way in hell you can interpret a pirate as a white-skinned mummy-ninja.

Jesus H. Christ, way to generalize, sir. Even though it's pretty much true, but still.

No, but to be fair, Grant's original design wasn't exactly that eye-popping to begin with.
