Konami Announces Two DLC Packs For Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow

Posted by BradNicholson (812 posts) -

Two additional chunks of downloadable content are coming to both versions of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow in early 2011, Konami has announced.

The first pack, called Reverie, appears to be a standard, one-off DLC addition that ties into the events of the main game. According to Konami, it'll have you returning to the game's castle as Gabriel in an attempt to help the former servant Laura destroy "the unruly evil that was previously kept in check by the recently slain Queen."

The second pack, which is slated for an April release and has been dubbed Resurrection, will take place immediately following the events of Lords of Shadow. Konami says this is the more substantial of the two currently slated DLC packs, as it sheds some light on the game's cliffhanger ending and features a "final showdown with a very notorious enemy." Oh, God, I hope it's Frankenstein

As I've said a billion times before, early 2011 will be a pretty busy time of the year. Will you be making time to return to Lords of Shadow? Or will that ship have sailed?

Apparently so.

I'm not against the DLC. It sounds like a great expansion to the game. The game had a proper (if not confusing) ending, and the Resurrection sounds like an epilogue.

Hell yeah I will make time for the DLC. My brother and I really enjoyed the game and  the ending was pretty damn good.

Also your tweet from earlier today makes a lot more sense now.

Oh, God, I hope it's Frankenstein!

Actually, in all likelyhood, that'll be the first pack.

Anything Castlevania-related is an automatic must-buy for me.  I'll be there the day they each are released with bells on.  That is, I will have bells on. I don't think they would release DLC with bells accessories.  Although that would be pretty rad.

If it has points then I'm in.  Got the full 1,000 last week and loved this game.  Would totally jump back into it.

Aww crap. I wish I hadn't traded it in yet. Oh well, by the time I'll want to play through it again, it might be cheap enough where I won't mind buying it again as I absolutely loved playing through it the first time.

DLC!? I haven't even beaten the game yet!

Damn this is good news. My second favorite game of 2010. I had such a fun time with this!

This has got me excited about Lords of Shadow again. Maybe I'll finally finish it this holiday season.

Can't wait. LOS was a great game and certainly didn't feel like they held things back for later DLC as Assassin's Creed 2 felt.

Yes! I loved this game. Now I have an excuse to play some more.

Well, now I need to buy this. Dang, like my 2011 wasn't all ready bank breaking....

"Will you be making time to return to Lords of Shadow?"
Absolutely. This game is my 'hack and slash' of the year.

#23 Posted by Bouke (1401 posts) -

I'm still playing through Lords of Shadow so i guess i'll finish the game first, but so far i'm loving it so there is a good change i'll pick this up.

Me too. Hope it isn't too pricey though.

I wouldn't mind playing both of those actually.

Still if the latter DLC will have the "final showdown with a notorious enemy" where would that leave the recently announced sequel? Actually, it's though for me to imagine any way the series could go, story wise, which makes it kind of interesting.

oh man do i ever need to finish this game. damn you cata...... damn you.

The game had a ending. If you don't buy this DLC it'll still be there.
#36 Posted by Villainess (19 posts) -

Awesome, cant wait.

#37 Posted by buft (3298 posts) -

they must have ran out of overpriced song packs to put out for the castlevania games...

#38 Edited by is343 (106 posts) -

While I liked the game, getting the plat in it really left me no longer interested in it. We'll see once they're out.

@RockmanBionics:
i have been asking the same question, i mean will the second DLC pic up after the ending or after the epilogue?! and in which timeline will the sequel take place?!
#40 Posted by Bouke (1401 posts) -

After just finishing the game i'm even more excited to play more Lords of Shadow! And now i really want to know who this enemy is you're going to face...

#41 Posted by chickengeorgewashington (144 posts) -

I'll play it, mainly out of a compulsion for completeness. Considering the castle portions were pretty much the only part of the game I can say I genuinely enjoyed, I'm curious to see what they'll do with it.

#42 Posted by Bloodgraiv3 (2712 posts) -

Ive been enjoying my time with Castlevania thus far, might buy one.
#43 Posted by Soap_of_Death (94 posts) -

I'll be getting the DLC too provided they aren't absurdly overpriced.
