Catacomb 3-D is a First Person Shooter developed by John Carmack, John Romero, and Tom Hall. Released in 1991, it is one of the first examples of a character-based FPS and would be followed by several other well known id Software titles. The game contains many features that would become staples in later id games, including a HUD that displays the character's face, colored keys, and a variety of demonic enemies.
