Catwoman AKA Selina Kyle is a fictional character from DC comics created in 1940 by Bob Kane and Bill Finger.
Overview
Even though there are many different versions of Catwoman, the most remembered is Selina Kyle. Selina is a gifted and accomplished athlete with heightened acrobatic prowess. She was trained by the Armless Master in martial arts and by Wildcat in boxing and street-fighting. She has dated Bruce Wayne (alias Batman) on and off, both as Selina Kyle, and as Catoman. She is a clever and resourceful fighter, known for precise, agile attacks and speedy getaways. Her combat skills are augmented by her cat-like speed, reflexes, balance, and flexibility. Catwoman is also known as a master thief possessed of unsurpassed stealth and cunning. An expert at heists, she is Gotham City's finest cat-burglar.Early Life
Known simply as The Cat Selina Kyle made her comic book debut in Batman#1 in the spring of 1940.
Born as the daughter ofBrian and Maria Kyle Seliena and her sister Maggie were brought up into an abusive household. After the death of her mother Selina became the focus of her fathers rage who despised her due Seliena’s likeness to her mother.After the death of her father Selina and Maggie ended up in Juvenile Hall.
At the age of 13, Selina stole enough money from the hall administrator who she discovered had been embezzling funds. With the money in hand the crook safely in the hands of the police Selina once again headed out into the streets.
In the old art of Gotham Selina met Mamma Fortuna in an area known as Ally Town. It was here that Selina learned how to steal. Selina eventually ran away, accompanied by her friend Sylvia due to the treatment they suffered.
With no money to support them they began to find work as child prostitutes.
