    The final male boss of the first Final Fantasy, he manipulates the elements of its world from his throne 2000 years in the past. He is actually the loyal knight Garland, twisted by a bizarre time loop.

    Final Fantasy

    Chaos is the corrupted visage of the knight Garland, hurled 2000 years back in time and given power by the Four Fiends of the Elements; Lich, Marilith, Kraken, and Tiamat. His purpose is to send the Four Fiends forward in time so that Garland will be sent back, keeping the Time Loop - and with it his control over the world - intact. From his chamber in the Temple of Fiends he awaits the coming of the Warriors of Light and the final showdown for control of the elemental crystals.
     

    Dissidia: Final Fantasy

    Chaos also appears in the Dissidia: Final Fantasy series as its main antagonist, bearing the title of the God of Discord. He opposes the goddess Cosmos, and harnesses the power of the crystals for evil.
