    Cherub

    Concept »

Cherubim are the second highest of the nine orders of angels. They have four heads (a man, an ox, a lion, and an eagle) and four wings, and at least one guards the entrance to the Garden of Eden.

    Short summary describing this concept.

Cherubim are frequently misidentified in the Western world with putti, chubby, winged babies from classical and Renaissance art. Such 'cherubs' are not equal with the order of angelic cherubim, as they have disparate forms and functions.
