You Guys Gotta Play This Game.
It's $12.50 on steam right now I'm still on the fence about it if it's worth it. It definitely looks fun but I'm wondering how long it would last. If I do get it I might consider getting the 4-pack. This video alone is whats making want this game.
It's a great game that's only going to get better over time. The dev's just pushed a major patch that addresses balance and fixes a bunch of issues. Take the plunge while it's on sale!
This is a great game. The melee system is deeper than it looks at first. I've spent more than 50 hours on it and still not bored one bit. Just gets more fun the better you get at choppin dudes, I practically never lose a 1 on 1 anymore. The voice commands are both hilarious and makes some battles really epic.
I actually got both war of the roses and chivalry. I ended up liking both a lot. I will say I found the first person missile system in chivalry a little bit easier because you really see where your arrows go versus WOTR. In that game, you get put back to 3rd person too quickly to really get a feel and see your arrow trail. Plus, all those voices in chivalry. I'm sorry but I can't help but giggle every time I'm walking by corpses going "AAAAAAGHAHAHGHEIEGHAHGHHEEHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAGH."
I bought the game today. So far it's fun, gets a little repetitive, would be better if the framerate was stable though. Also the people in the chat seem particularly likely to have terrible usernames and say terrible things, pretty much as bad as CS:S gets, but I guess if you just ignore the chat it's all good.
@theveej: You'll have no trouble finding a game right now.
I'm completely terrible at this, but I love it.
I received Far Cry 3, Dark Souls, and Chivalry for the holidays. A pretty awesome haul. And yet...
Far Cry 3 - 4 hours
Dark Souls - 2 hours
Chivalry - 24 hours
One of the best competitive multiplayer experiences I've had in years.
Chivalry has made me find a new found appreciation for Mount and Blade. After playing a couple hours of Chivalry I'm already dead bored of it. It's the same horde type game play that always wins a match. In CoD there's at least some level of tactics and flanking maneuvers, this is just hack and slash in the same narrow valleys and arenas til you die and respawn. The combat in M&B is much more varied with the addition of cavalry and with the large size of the maps it can really make for some interesting battles. Plus the mod community is so active for M&B, you're bound to find something you'll like there.
