Chrono Trigger is an awesome game! Unfortunately, I have the PSX version which has those God-awful load times, but I will definitely be picking up the DS version later on this year!

Golden Sun, for the GBA is the best game I've ever played. But, I've never played Chrono Cross.

I have SNES, PSX and a DS preorder.

Chrono Trigger is a system seller for me. This put the DS on my radar.

Anyway, I've played Chrono Trigger, but I certainly don't think it's the best.

I'm buying a DS just for this game, that is how much i liked the game.

Not just best game ever, mind you -- it's the best produced entertainment ever created by mankind! 

So I'm an enormous philistine... so what.

Agree CT is the best game I have ever played. The story was just epic, and the gameplay was excellent.  I think I have to play it again now.  

I got it for PS1 but never got too far in.  Any suggestions on what I should do?  Play throught it on PS, or wait until DS arrival?  And don't say SNES version, cause it was hard enough tracking down the PS one.

Ah, I still remember the day it was released, I was 9 at the time. Ah, one of the greatest game ever made :)

I was 14 when this came out.  I remember thinking at the time that it was the best game ever made.  Today, I still feel it's great and I play it with excitement, but I'm not sure it's the best.  I don't even know if I've played the best game yet.  But, nothing will replace those wonderful sprites, those gorgeous backgrounds and that fantastic soundtrack.  Aw.  What a great game.

A friend of mine the other day complained it was the most overrated game ever.  I disagree with that.  It's great.  Whether it meets someone else's falsely-inflated expectations, I don't think so.  But for me, it met expectations I didn't have for video games prior to it.

I don't think that one could reasonably call this the best game ever.  Top 10?  Perhaps.

For its time it was superb, and having played the SNES version again last year, I was pretty amazed at how well it held up.  That said, everything evolves, including RPG's -- it has been replaced by better.

And no, I'm not referring to Chrono Cross.

For me, it got replaced with other games over time (the Metal Gear series comes to mind) but it still holds a special place in my gaming library and will always.

I will say it is in my top 5 easy.

I still prefer Final Fantasy III aka VI as the best SNES rpg ever.   I did sink alot of time into crono trigger though, i love the art style and music.  You also don't see alot of time traveling in games.

But for the year it came out it was quite advanced for a game.
