Rough and tough clay warriors with incredible malleable abilities come back to beat each other senseless for a third time.

Overview

Continuing the innovative art style of its predecessors, Clay Fighter 63 1/3 pits all manner of clay adversaries against each other in an all out brawl.

Gameplay

Battles take place on Klaymodo island, a secret and secluded place full of mystery that is up to the player to uncover. Players can take the reigns of twelve clay characters, nine of which are playable at start and three that are only accessed with the use of cheat codes. 63 1/3 showcased the unique concept of multi-tiered stages, where stages had more than one area to them and could be accessed by players launching their opponent into the next room.

Development

Leading up to the game's release the developers revealed various new characters that would be featured in 63 1/3, however when the game was finally released a majority of these new characters were cut, leading Interplay to release a directors cut featuring these characters exclusively at Blockbuster, called Clayfighter 63 1/3;Sculptors Cut.

Another intresting note is that a Playstation version of the game was in development called Clayfighters Extreme, this however was later canceled. Intrestingly enough both 631/3 and Extreme have thier orgins in a game in development for the unreleased console M2. entitled Clayfighter 3.

Parody

The title itself is a parody of N64 games having the number 64 after their name i.e. Super Mario 64. Various aspects of the fighting system parodies other fighting games, there is a 3-level bar for combos like street fighter alpha, and combos have humorous names like itty bitty combo and triple brown betty combo. The announcer before each fight is none other than Michael Buffer, who parodies his own catch phrase with "Lets get ready to crumble"
