Cognetics Corporation is a usability and user experience company located in Princeton Junction,  New Jersey, USA. It was founded in 1982 by Charles Kreitzberg, a psychologist and computer scientist. Cognetics produced two text adventure games in the 1980's: Amnesia (for Electronic Arts) and The Mystery of the River of Song (for CBS Software).

Both were written using the King Edward platform developed by James Terry. Kevin Bentley programmed Amnesia based on a script by writer Thomas Disch (February 2, 1940 - July 5, 2008). The script for the Mystery of the River of Song was written by Jerry Juhl ((July 27, 1938 – September 26, 2005)) who was the head writer for The Muppets and Fraggle Rock.
