With all the Watchmen hype going around, I seem to be the odd one out. Personally, Superhero movies have grown old. In case you've forgotten some, there have been dozens of them released this decade. To name a few:

    • X-men
    • X2: X-men United
    • X-men: The Last Stand
    • Spider-man
    • Spider-man 2
    • Spider-man 3
    • Daredevil
    • Hulk
    •  The Incredible Hulk
    • The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
    • Hellboy
    • Hellboy II: The Golden Army
    • Catwoman
    • Blade: Trinity
    • Elektra
    • Batman Begins
    • The Dark Knight
    • Fantastic Four
    • Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
    • Superman Returns
    • Ghost Rider
    • Iron Man
    • Hancock
    • Watchmen
    • and more.

Thinking back, was this whole Superhero fascination just a fad? Or are they going to keep coming in increasing numbers? Am I the only one who grows bored? Even The Dark Knight, which was great, still left me with a very shallow feeling of "yep, that was totally a comic-book."

Well, that's me. What about you's?

Man, most of those movies sucked.

Yeah, the whole Superhero fad is growing old, but it's still fun to see what they're getting on the big screen.

there is no doubt that most of these are horrible, but superhero movies are fun when you don't take them too seriously. although there are some exceptions that should never be seen by anyone.

i'm still excited for Watchmen, even though the game SUCKED BALLS.

Of the movies you listed, I only really hate 8 of them and I can stand to absolutely love.  I personally think that most of them have gotten better.  Marvel now has it's own film studio so now they have creative control over the films so they can hopefully keep them from falling prey to the suckiness of Elektra or Catwoman(never saw it but heard many times it sucked).  If you saw Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk last summer, you know that Marvel has finally done right.

Every once in a while a great one comes out and they're usually worth the wait.

The market will always be flooded with items that sell. That's why we always see so many FPS games every year. There may not be that many great FPS games each year, but that doesn't stop people from buying ones that may just be "good". If something is proven to sell...everyone is going to want a piece of the action.

X-Men and X2 are pimp. Other than that, meh. Alright that ain't true, Batman Beings and the Dark Knight are pretty awesome.

Nope, last year was a great year for superhero movies with Iron Man, Batman, Hellboy, and Hulk.  I would even throw Wanted on that list, even though it deviates from the comic pretty quickly.

Whats wrong with Super hero movies? Most of them are better than a majority of...

    • Romantic Comedies
    • Christmas movies
    • Bourne-esque action films
    • Movies for college guys
    • Apatow-esque comedies
    • [Insert Genre] Movie... movies
    • Gritty, brown, dull, no fun, horror remakes / torture porn

...that have come out recently. Besides, its not like you're being forced to see them all.

I wonder if I'm one of the few who didn't find The Dark Knight to be the best film of last year...I don't even think it's the best superhero movie that I've seen. It gets quite annoying when my English teacher has explosions in his pants when talking about the film.

No, you aren't. Everyone was freaking out about the Ledgers performance as the joker, but I was kind of disappointed. I wanted my joker to be more... joker-y. He definitely had the "dark" part down, but I'd have liked to see more gags. He can definitely pull it off, like the part where he opened his jacket and had all of those crazy grenades. I guess he dressed up like a nurse... but that's just not enough!

No, as long as they're good.

Yeah, Spidey 3 and X3 sucked, but they're always entertaining.
