Command & Conquer
Command & Conquer is a long-running franchise renowned for its popularization of the real-time strategy genre.
EA's Visceral Games Is Working On A Command & Conquer Title
The Visceral Games studio under EA will handle the next Command & Conquer title. No, for real.
Visceral Games GM and EA Games label "action and strategy" czar Nick Earl revealed the unannounced title in a recent chat with Gamasutra. He mentioned no details about this next game other than it is "pretty far out," and you'll have to take that as you will.
A new game confirmation like this is hot stuff, but the interview didn't revolve around the unannounced title. Rather, it dealt with how EA is shaping its studios to represent specific genres and attempting to streamline the game-creation process with a collaborative model. For example, Visceral will be sharing resources with EALA and studios in Montreal, Shanghai, and Melbourne.
With no details, it's easy to speculate based on Visceral's history and alignment that this next C&C game will be a character-based action title instead of an RTS. But that's not to say that C&C has always been tied to hotkeys, overhead cameras, and base building. An FPS called Command & Conquer: Renegade was released in 2002. Another shooter called Command & Conquer: Tiberium was planned, but was ultimately cancelled by EA in 2008 due to quality concerns.

I hope its not another Renegade but I am very interested in what this could turn out to be.
EDIT: They should make the main character say nothing but : "That was left handed", "I got a present for ya" and "Real tough guy"
EDIT2: Actually I hope they put some good music in the game.
So when Kane goes to hell to retrieve his loved one, strategy ensues when you find a bunch of miners who accidentally found their way there.
Not only is Generals massively overrated but american, chinese and middle eastern groups would shit the bed if they announced a game like it was coming out these days.
Let it go.
Edit: Also laughing at all the dumb people talking about how C&c is a dead franchise when it's probably the one name in the medium that can be applied to almost any genre and no one would question it.
EA is destroying the universe of CnC and RA by experimenting with all sort of weird shiiit.
They should instead make a good follow-up game that is in the DAMM universe it will probably sell better then anything else they could put out.
For the love of all that is unholy in this world please let it ether be a new generals, the only EA CnC worth playing, or a return to CnC 95 before all this future tech and alien shit ruined the series.
Oh meh gwad!
Could it be a Renegade sequel????!!!??!!1?!!1!!!??? Renegade is one of my favorite games of all time!!! Calm down. Calm down. It's going to suck. It's EA we are talking about here. The destroyer of CnC. Don't get your hopes up...The latest Command and Conquer bombed less than a year ago, and their already pumping out a sequel? EA launches heaps of sequels no matter how bad or how damaging to franchises, and Activision does the same with plastic peripherals. Meanwhile, studios that actually make GOOD GAMES(like Bungie, Blizzard(part of activision, i realize) and Valve) are making tons of profits and the EA/Activision execs are sitting around like "Why doesn't our stuff sell like that?". What a bunch of idiots. Fuck C&C.
" So when Kane goes to hell to retrieve his loved one, strategy ensues when you find a bunch of miners who accidentally found their way there. "I'm getting a very Torchlight vibe from what you described. I approve.
"Generals 2 / Renegade 2 / Tiberium? I'm in. I've loved pretty much every CNC game, though I haven't played CnC4 (and probably won't)."
C&C4 was sutch a big let down so you can skip it with good conscience. I would love to see a Red Alert 4, but for godsake cut the dual base bs. Generals 2 and an offshot in the Tiberium series would also be fun.
But Renegade 2? With todays graphics and just the online potential. Make it so EA.
