A mysterious alien plant like crystal has been found by Doctor Ignatio Mobius. He discovered the first patch of crystals at the Tiber River in Italy, and named it Tiberium accordingly. However another man, named only as Kane, claims to have discovered the Tiberium first, naming it after Emporer Tiberius. Tiberium Crystals are found to be a very valueable resource and so the Global Defense Inititive (GDI), a alliance of western countries, have begun harvesting the resource to fund their war against the terrorist organization the Brotherhood of Nod (Nod) who pioneered Tiberium harvesting and weaponization early.
Kane, the leader of Nod, wants to spread Tiberium throughout the entire world, having humans accept it and live with it, while using it to create an army to rival that of GDI. GDI on the other hand has found Tiberium to be deadly to humans and wishes to remove it from Europe, also using Tiberium as a resource to fund their defense. These two powerful forces, funded by Tiberium, have just started what will be known as the first Tiberium War. Will you fight as a Global Defense Inititive Commander or a Apostle of Kane, showing GDI's lies for what they are and spreading Kane's message of Tiberium.

Overview
Command & Conquer (also called Tiberian Dawn) is a critically acclaimed and revolutionary real time strategy game developed by Westwood Studios and released in 1995, it is the first title in the series. It is often credited for defining what the genre is today being the one of the first RTS games to focus mainly on base building. Tiberian Dawn is set in an alternate history 1995 and focuses on the conflict between the two factions GDI and NOD and their war for the substance Tiberium.The game was released as freeware on its 12th anniversary and can be downloaded from the EA's official website.
Plot
